quote:I disagree with that characterization of the GOP.
The big difference is the GOP establishment doesn’t like him because because they don’t want to lose the power over us. They are close to the same as the dems.
The reason many in the GOP don’t like him is that they have spent years working on their agenda to beat the Democrats in elections. All elections from local to the presidency and for years to come. They have a plan and the Party was all on board. Then comes Trump... someone from outside of this plan... coming in and doing things on his own and in their eyes fricking everything up.
They’ve spent so much time and effort and here comes some a-hole undermining all of their work.
If you were in their shoes you’d probably be pissed too.

Well, that's what happens when the other major party has an equally bad candidate and millions choose to not bother voting or vote third party. Over 100,000,000 voting age adults didn't vote. Only a little over 50% of voting age adults voted.

Trump distracts with something flashy and easy to talk about, while he picks the Liberals pockets. Flim-flam, Three Card Monte, Pick Pocketing ... at it’s best. I love it!

My guess is because he is doing a lot that I like and did not think was possible

They hated Reagan almost as badly. The Bush protests were over the top weird too.
Hell, look what they said about Romney and McCain....

He challenges (very directly in some cases) the SJW-identity politics that make up the core of who they are.
He is showing people that you can just blow off their charges of Xism and hit back. If that happens, they have very little left.

Sore losers.
They all thought Hildog had it in the bag and were taking victory laps before election night then reality hit them in the face with a 2x4.
Now they are all pissy because it was "her turn".

Love him or hate him, if you have a conservative bone in your body, you must hope he succeeds. This battle is bigger than any one man.
This is me - nobody was more anti-trump than me during the primary.
Nobody wants him to massively succeed more than me now.
I hope he goes down as one of the top 3 POTUS in history - He represents hope for guiding the nation back to an American culture we can all be proud of and love.

Why did the right hate Obama so much?
Because he was against everything we revered and was for everything that disgusted us.

I think one of the reasons is that he says and does things far beneath the dignity of the office practically on a daily basis. I've seen horrible candidates before on both sides, but he is by far the worst in that regard. This could be one reason why the left and a growing number of republicans are not amused.

1. He has an R by his name.
2. They are told he is evil.

They're also just pissed they can't take him down with their bias. Remember "Read my lips," "potatoe," and "47%" and all the damage those narratives inflicted? None of those things hold a candle to some of the coarse language Trump has used, yet they can't take him down.
He's taught conservatives that fighting is a better strategy than trying to play nice with people who won't uphold their side of the bargain. He knows you can't negotiate with terrorists and all the terrorists are left with is more terror.
And here we are.

It was nothing like the anti Trump rhetoric, but yeah....some was over the top.
Obama was a SJW more than he was a hard core economic leftist. Or at least, that's what his presidency looks like. I believe he set the tone for the zaniness we see on the left right now.

What could be more "beneath the dignity of the office" than what Bill did with Monica in the Oval Office?
And yet, Bill Clinton is the apotheosis of the Male Democrat Demi-God now and always will be. He is now and will always be one of the most revered Democrat POTUSes of all time.
So, I ask you, does "beneath the dignity of the office" really play a very important role in picking our winners and losers WRT ranking a POTUS?
I conclude: apparently not.

He's unpopular even among republicans because of his antics. He has a republican senate and house and the great deal maker can't pass anything through but excecutive orders. I understand you won't know it by reading this board d but he's lost a lot of respect among the whole country.

It really seems to just be an obsession of their's without any real explanation as to why. I mean I didn't like Barack Obama, I'm not gonna lie, but it was just "oh I'm not gonna vote for him" or "I don't like this specific policy". For Trump though, it just seems that they are completely obsessed with every little thing he does on a daily basis.
Something about grabbing pussys...you know the same thing that the right is up in arms about with Weinstein.

Less than 15% voted this past Saturday. Does that mean those who won aren't qualified?
Do you believe voting should be mandatory?
