That's what even many dedicated fans do. When one is that wrapped up in the team, rational thought goes out the window. It doesn't make them bandwagon fans. Bandwagon fans are the ones who only pay attention during the good times. They weren't even watching yesterday. They caught the score on the news.

If you were not concerned about the future of LSU football after being drummed by Moo U and Troy, and then starting this game down 20 to nothing after the first quarter, the YOU are not a true LSU fan.

As to your original premise, it's idiotic. Every school wants bandwagon fans, bandwagon fans mean your team has a product that attracts the casual viewer AND their money. If LSU wants to continue to be one of the few self supporting athletic departments, then LSU does, in fact, need Bandwagon fans.

100% agree. Problem is in today’s world people LOVE to virtue signal about how big of a fan they are to feel good about themselves but in reality they are pretty much clueless about the game.

I love this post, I got hammered by the same people after we lost to Troy for say be patient. Look at us now, gelling, and playing like true champions. I can't stand those sumbitches. It's like politics. You can talk until you're blue in the face, but you will NEVER change someone's opinion. They have to come around to it on their own terms.
That said, this website is really a horrible place. fricking godawful. It should be shut down because if you don't think a bunch of 16yr old high school recruits come here and read this board when they are being courted by LSU, you are naive as hell. Recruiting is hard enough thanks to Bama, I'm sure, without our own fanbase tearing down our players at every opportunity.
The negativity here far, far outweighs the good and people seem to think that because it has the arbitrary moniker "The Rant" that it means every post needs to insult, criticize and attack. When our own players are saying things like "we don't need bandwagon fans" it should really tell you something.
Cue the one liner insults from the preteens...

If our players are on this website getting their feeling hurt over a bunch of middle aged dudes posting critical comments we have much bigger problems.
