Trick question. Hunters without a high fence can't manage genetics.

How old is the deer?
How heavy are the antlers?

From all the research I've done, the correlation between genetics and antler formation is relatively low.
But apparently you can decode a deer's DNA sequence just from a picture. So, I guess that makes you some sort of genius. I mean, a regular nuclear meltdown.
Carry on.

Yep. Unfortunately, this doesn’t stop people from reapeating the same genetics rabble over and over.

Daytime or nighttime hunting?

the hell with the rack, what does the body look like? that should be the deciding factor - imo.
i'd rather shoot a 5.6-6.5 yr old heavy horned 6 pt than a 2.5-3.5 yr old 10 pt that has a skinny-horned rack (height and width not considered)
look at it this way:
none of us are hunting for real survival so what would you rather do: out-fox the old smart dude or out-fox the youngin' that can't think past the end of his tallywacker?

Public land or private? What region of the state? In some places anything with bone on his head has "superior genetics"
