It always seems people like one or the other, not both.

Friends is gonna be in the minority for some reason, but count me in the underdog. Also, not close to me either.

Seinfeld by far. George Costanza is debatably the best character ever in a comedy.

This. See the above comments. Friends was deceptively smart and a great show for its time. And, believe it or not, the characters were more human than Seinfeld.
Seinfeld is probably the winner on the basis of pure artistry, but Friends is more enjoyable and relatable, which makes for the better sitcom.

I agree Friends is somewhat underrated in a sense, but it's still Seinfeld by a good bit
