Ronald Reagan can be heard laughing from his grave.

Ted Nugent, Sony Bono, etc. etc. etc. all say "hi."

OMG musicians interject their personal political beliefs ALL THE TIME in their concerts.
Ironic that a musician doesn't recognize this.

This. But don't tell the Drama Queens. They are getting great mileage from this.

As a public figure, entertainer or whatever they want to classify themselves as, it is never a good idea to alienate a large % of your viewers. The owners at this point are just dumbasses for not stopping this, the league can't win this argument because it is a matter of patriotism and believe it or not a huge majority of the US population is still very patriotic.

Either keep the teams in the locker room for the anthem or tell them to stand, just don't disrespect the flag.

The National talk radio shows (even FOX) are telling me I shouldn't be concerned with the protest. I'm not sure what percentage of fans are fed up, but these players are well within their rights, and if I don't like it there's something wrong with me.

When you purchase a ticket to a NFL you do not expect a political outburst. When you attend a Stevie Wonder concert, you should know he will rant about 45.

Yeah, bummer for them. They just finished a tour that grossed $56 million.

Sometimes you can find your niche market and it works out.

I'm not sure the NFL wants to see how they work out as a purely niche progressive product, but I could be wrong.

Sometimes I wonder if Goodell really doesn't get it or if he is trying to live up to some misguided notion he has of his father.

$56 million might be "niche" compared to NFL money, but I'd hardly call it niche on the concert trail, lol...

Whatever happened with the Dixie Chicks, they're not hurting anymore...and eventually, neither will the NFL. Like I said elsewhere, NFL fans are a dime a dozen. When all is said and done, these outraged folks won't be as missed as they believe...

No one is denying the right of the NFL and various players to undertake an action based in large part on a false narrative. What I find most interesting is critique of the predictable reaction.

The feeling seems to be that players have the right to action without consequence. That is just not the way life works.

Critics of the response are the first to say, if you don't like a TV show or an entertainer, change the channel. That seems to be what is happening.

Why then all the hand-wringing, complaint and derision?
