I am, we fired Les because we weren't winning important games, so when someone says now that this season isn't about wins, it's pretty hard to take that seriously.

This team is not the same team that les has had to work with. The talent on this team isn't close and that's les fault. I don't blame o for that.

So we're not giving any credit/blame to O for the class he recurited as Les' recruiting coordinator or the one he "held together" this offseason, nor are we placing any blame on him for the 300000 OL transfers, his refusal to consider going a different direction than Grimes and the lack of discipline on and off the field? Just wondering when O will actually be the guy calling the shots to y'all, especially considering he was nabbed as the "continuity" guy who could simply pick up where we were and elevate the program to being again championship caliber.

what are your expectations for next season?

Based on who we lose and positions needed to be filled, it will probably be the same situation if not worse. There will still be a ton of inexperienced lineman on both sides. There will be a new quarterback whose experience level is yet to be determined. The same coaching staff will be there. All the stars are lining up for a repeat. I wonder what excuses will pop up then.

Well next season he would of had a chance to get depth on the o line.

Why does depth on the O line matter here? Assuming no injuries, the starting 5 OL play the entire game. A lack of depth is not what’s wrong with our OL.

Exactly- dont get me wrong, it was time for Miles to go but he was canned for not winning. Why all the sudden 0 is the coach the expectations are 6-6. Get this bum out of town

Yep. And Les dealt with this every year and still mustered 8-9 wins in his worst years. Obviously this year isn't over, but I'd be lying if I said I expect 8-9 wins this year or especially next year. It is indeed amazing to see people accept losing a lot of players this year as an excuse when it was never acceptable under Les.

Mother of god, the continuous lowering of standards and the bar just reach new levels.

I hope people hold O to the standard Les was held to. 10 wins seasons or better. Being satisfied for being competitive is completely unacceptable

Just to help you get your facts straight, the class he recruited as recruiting coordinator and the class he "held together" are the same one (2017). He was recruiting coordinator about nine months, from January 14, 2016 to September 25, 2016. Frank Wilson was recruiting coordinator before taking the head job at UTSA.

I mean, unless you're calling him the recruiting coordinator for the 2016 class because he held that title for the 3 weeks before signing day. But that seems pretty disingenuous.

Not sure why me presenting facts about when Orgeron was actually the recruiting coordinator gets this response.

Solid burn, though.

And you think CEO is going to do that with this depleted, talent-starved, injured team?

It is all about recruiting. No HC will succeed without bring in top recruiting classes. I thought coach O was a good recruiter, I don't like what I see so far but it is too early to judge.

If you use that metric then you would have to say the program did not decline under miles. I think it was evident that the program declined the last few years under miles.

Les had teams "depleted" by early departures every single year. He was held to the standard of 10 wins or bust. The same or higher standard should be applied to Orgeron, as Les was fired for not reaching that level of success on a consistent basis.
