It appears one of the universities named in this indictment is University in Kentucky with 22,000 student.

quote:

$100,000 was funneled to the family of an All-American high school basketball player by an Adidas rep, according to what I'm reading

quote:

"The bribe money was structured in a manner so as to conceal it from the NCAA and officials at University 6". Wired to third party

quote:

This began in May 2017 and continued until this month. The defendant named in indictment is James Gatto, who works for Adidas.

quote:

"The money was "to assist one or more coaches as University 6 in securing Player 10, an All-American high school basketball player."

quote:

This player was one of the last top high school players to sign with a university in the class of 2017 and had already committed elsewhere

Jesus Christ Louisville, Brian Bowen isn't even worth 100k.

College basketball has always been a sleazy business. It's a joke, really needs to be put back to the club level.

Just listened to an interview with the reporter that was on this scandal early and got the FBI's attention. These reps are well-to-do professionals that won't want to face jailtime, and the only limit to the scope is how far the FBI wants to take it.

They could ask "O.k., who's the you at Nike?, Underarmour?" And it goes thermonuclear. There's bound to be a lot of nervous coaches all around the country right now.

I can't wait for the eventual movie of all this. With Bradley Cooper and Brad Pitt as the FBI agents that brought this all in.
