No it's people like me who go to work everyday and produce who take care of the freeloaders.

It is people like me who taught my children to excel and taught them morals, ethics and individual responsibility which will make them productive members of society.

Instantly you go to the pretend Christian faith attack.

Try harder next time!

If you truly believed that, then you wouldn’t be proud to vote for Roy Moore.

I believe it and it is why I couldn't reward the quid pro quo pulled off by Bentley and Strange

Roy Moore, who will win tomorrow in Bama, is a total charlatan idiot nutjob. But the democrats for some reason chose to run a very liberal guy named doug jones, who is completely pro-choice, pro-transgender, etc. Yea, he is pure, but in order to win races you need to run people who are more in tune with the median voter in the state rather than the national party. This could be a winnable senate race for the dems but their candidate is seen as unelectable by a large % of alabama voters.

That's the problem with the Democratic party. If the candidate is not pure enough then the party will try to primary them out. See Joe Manchin, a Democrat in a state that voted for Trump overwhelmingly. After his vote for Jeff Sessions as AG, there were talks of voting Manchin out in the primaries from a bunch of whiny progressives. What purpose would it serve if you replace a moderate Democrat with someone in the far left, only to be destroyed in the general election. My party is filled with a bunch of morons.

I'm a moderate Democrat.

Sadly, your party doesn’t have the market cornered on morons.

That's fine. The Democratic party has no one but themselves to blame for 2016. Too bad they will never learn. I would probably vote for Rubio if he were somehow the nominee in 2020.

The key litmus test in running as a Dem is abortion. They are not going to support a Dem candidate in the reddest of states if he's pro life.

The GOP is not the same. You can run as GOP in a blue state and be pro choice.

A reminder. Al Gore was pro life when running for low office in Tenn. When he realized he had a chance to move up in the Dem party he had to switch to pro choice. He explained the flip flop in one sentence: "I evolved on the issue."

BTW... I sunk a chip from 20 yards off the green this morning. I had to tell somebody and my wife doesn't give a shite.

Nope.

A Democrat won't win a statewide election in Alabama for at least 20 years.

You're wrong about this. Almost every Strange voter I know would happily cross the aisle if the dems had run a more moderate candidate.

Hell, many of them are going to do it anyway, but not nearly enough to swing the general.

It worked in Louisiana. We have one of those "moderate"s in the governor's mansion.

There are pockets of blue throughout the state and if they can find a candidate that can appeal to those pockets while also appealing to the suburban GOP type, then they may have a shot. How Walt Maddux & Doug Jones run their campaigns will play a big role in the branding of the AL Democratic Party statewide. They will be the most viable Dems to run for statewide office in the last few cycles.

The #1 thing the AL Dems need to do is get rid of Joe Reed. That guy has had way too much influence for far too long. He's a big reason why the party has become such a trainwreck internally.
