Been to San Juan 3 times in the last few years.
People there were really nice. I have no issue helping then out they are citizens. Just like those in the USVIs which were devastated.

That referendum was based on about a 23 percent voter turn out. While it is probably best for them from a financial standpoint, I question if the island really wants it. Moreover, it's not going to get attention on the US level any time soon.
