Announcement finally came after a $50 million donation by David Booth. Also building a new indoor practice facility, a big renovation of the baseball stadium, and building a new volleyball arena, so $350m total.

Watch out college football world

Should have instead invested that money into food for Mangino to entice him back.

Won't matter, but that's cool for the Lawrence. Having Booth as a very active donor doesn't hurt.

That looks nice but feels like a total waste of money. Nobody cares about football at Kansas...not the public at-large and not the students.

Why not make Allen Fieldhouse Jerry-World? Spend the money there making it the greatest college basketball stadium in America. That's all that matters at Kansas. They already paid millions of dollars for the official rules of basketball.

They could have at least made the stadium crowd look real. There are WAY too many fans in that stadium. Neex to remove about 25,000 of them from the drawings then we get a good glimpse

Bring back the magic

The man went 12-1 and won an Orange Bowl. At Kansas. He's clearly the greatest coach ever.

That's. Nice stadium and all, but seriously when is the last time Kansas has had a winning season?

It's just bizarre to excite the fanbase.

If they said, we are spending $300 million to make Allen Fieldhouse - the Mecca - then fans could get behind it. Schools expand or modify b-ball arenas all the time.

Why is Kansas wasting money on a football team nobody in the entire known world cares about.

And not spending all the money on the basketball program? Go full Mark Cuban for basketball indulgence for KU if you are going to waste money on the goddamn football program. Which has 50 years of retirement papers.

What is Kansas supposed to do, not care about football?

This kind of project can only do you good.
