When I was in high school (mid 90s), we had a new math teacher who was obviously gay. He was a black guy who, at first look, looked just like a regular slightly tall guy who always dressed really well, but once he started talking and moving there was no doubt he was gay. I think he was openly gay without actually saying "hi I am gay"..

But anyone, it was towards the end of the school year and he was boxing up shite in his classroom and was going to pick up a few boxes at once. Someone in my class got out of his seat and went over and said "I will do it. This is a man's job". The way he said it, it didn't sound like he was taking a shot at the teacher, he was just being stupid saying "I am a man!".. The teacher wrote him up and he got suspended for 3 days..

This comment reminded me of that, but I remember it being a big deal.. Not because of what the student said, but because the teacher wrote him up and the school went as far as to suspend him.
