I've been indifferent to O. Not a fan nor a hater but generally one who would give him the benefit of the doubt. Up until we got down by 30 points I'm in Starkville still thinking we will win and go undefeated. Up through Tuesday I'm making every excuse like it was only 4 players, 4 plays, 4 bad calls or we would have won. Yesterday (Wednesday) was the final straw. I've been deaf dumb and blind. Let's review the facts of what is obviously a program being massively mismanaged.

QB recruiting drama, D. Craig, the Arden Key sage, beef with HS coaches, transfers, transfers and more transfers, player dismissals, media blackout of camp, new practice ways that obviously hasnt worked, Jacoby Stevens mismanagement, ton of player suspensions, not showing anything the first two games, being blown out to MSU, not running 4 WR sets until down by 30 on road and now as of yesterday Guice Range Rover gate and even more Jacoby Stevens mismanagement. That's just all the stuff I can think of off the top of my head. It's just too much to ignore.

In previous posts I've dated O is smart enough to know this is his last stop and massive changes are needed NOW, quick fast and in a hurry. I no longer have confidence after all the things I listed that O has control of this program where in a gut check moment he can motivate and inspire his players to push through.

Please find another team to root for. I hear the weather is quite fair in Alabama.

Well I stopped reading when I read you thought we were going undefeated. 2 loss team was the ceiling and that wasn't even a good chance of happening.

Let's reverse engineer things shall we. It is fair to say, beyond Vegas having us as a 7 point favorite, that we all expected us to beat MSU. I hope we can all agree that's a fair statement.

First, Ed Paris shouldn't have been playing. Last couple years he's had no reps or meaningful game time and it showed. For us to have the #1 safety and every week he's in a new position but safety is mismanagement.

DL is thin and hurt. But why? A couple players were suspended. Is it fair to ask why they felt the need to commit an infraction they assumed they would get away with (or maybe get the Arden Key special treatment) exposing others to injuries by having to carry a larger share?

We got down and then got behind further..and further...and further, showing an inability to come back by making a run. Earlier last week before MSU, O stated we don't need to run 4 WR sets, except we did for the first time when down 30 on the road. Mismanagement.

I could go on. The point is, I and we for whatever reason have chosen to write off glaring examples of program mismanagement by O. Again I was deaf dumb blind giving him the benefit of the doubt everytime. You don't just accidentally lose by 30 out of nowhere to a team we all expected to beat. I fear so many mistakes have been made that unless drastic changes are made quick a collapse to 4 or 5 loses is realistic.

All you have to do is look at his resume as a permanent HC. Enough said.

That's a long and accurate list. I challenge anyone to name one item in the list that isn't viable.

I find it hard to believe there are so many downvoters.

If you follow DG on snapchat, it seems like 90% of his days are spent playing with the Jaguars on Madden 18.

Read this: LINK
And put a tampon in. For this who don’t click the link ...

quote:

Historic or No, It Only Counts Once However, there’s also some encouraging results in that chart of comparables. Both Les Miles and Nick Saban lost their first SEC games at LSU. Les let a huge lead slip away in an eventual overtime loss to Tennessee.

quote:

Even more encouraging, Saban lost by 17 to Auburn. He would follow this game up with a now infamous loss to UAB. LSU would rally for a win over Tennessee, but then would get their doors blown off by Florida, 41-9. Saban would go 1-3 in this stretch. His defense would allowed 30 points to every SEC team in this stretch, and the offense only scored above 17 points once, the 38-point explosion against Tennessee.

quote:

LSU would win 5 of their next 6 games, including the Peach Bowl. LSU would win the SEC title the following year, and the national title in Year Four of his tenure. Sometimes, a loss is just a loss.

quote:

Many coaches lose in embarrassing fashion in their first year at a new gig, and it’s no indictment on their abilities:

Dabo Swinney lost three of his first five games after having the interim tag pulled off at Clemson, capping off that run with a loss to Maryland.

Paul Chryst lost his Big Ten opener to Iowa, a month after getting whollopped by Alabama in the season opener by 18. He won the Big Ten West the next two years.

James Franklin won two Big Ten games his first year at Penn State, mainly because he got to play Rutgers and Indiana. He was another coach to lose to Maryland in his first season.

Clay Helton got the interim tag lifted at USC in 2016, and promptly lost to Alabama by 46 points. He followed it up with losses in his first two conference games. USC hasn’t lost since.

Mike Gundy went 4-7 his first year at Oklahoma St in 2005, and only won one conference game. He lost to Colorado by 34, Texas A&M by 39, and Iowa St by 27.

Chris Petersen went 8-6 his first year at Washington despite a preseason top 25 ranking, qualifying for a bowl game only because Washington managed to beat Hawaii by a single point.

Jim Harbaugh lost his first game at Michigan 24-17 to Utah. Later that year, he’d guide Michigan to a win over Ohio St and its first 10 win season in five years.

You get the point. That’s the current coaches at virtually the entire top 10 right now. Bad losses didn’t derail them.

This isn’t a career ending loss. It’s not even season ending. Much like that pass interference call in the first quarter, you’ve got to get over it.

Keep the Faith, and show up loud and ready to obliterate Syracuse on Saturday.

In!

We don't know if LSU will rise from the ashes, collapse, or something in between but what gets me is (and I'm not speaking about the OP just a lot of people on this board in general) all the tards making ridiculous claims last week about how great LSU was, and how stupid Herbstreet is, and how no one is gonna score more than 14 puts on our defense, are some of the same tards that this week think the LSU football apocalypse is upon us.
TO ALL YOU TARDS: You were very wrong last week, and I'm suppose to believe all of a sudden you know WTF you're talking about now when you say we're horrible and incompetent? No, sorry, you don't get to do this. You blew it last week when you crowned LSU after wins over BYU and Chatt, and here you are overreacting again

How many coaches that you know of, when taking over their first program, didn't have these same problems.

Does Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina. Have any of those problems?
How about Saban when he came to LSU. Why did Trev Faulk leave early?

QB recruiting drama

I don't really see any drama, we got both guys. why should it be surprising that a kid thinks about it a little longer when the coaching staff that recruited him gets fired.

quote:

D. Craig

Coaches get fired. The FACT is that he got out worked for the guys he was recruiting.

quote:

the Arden Key sage

Should he have kicked him off the team? Cuz you also said transfers and dismissals are a problem. Key had an issue whether it was drugs or a baby or that he needed time away from the limelight or whatever, CEO got him the help he needed.

quote:

beef with HS coaches

Was completely made up. The so called meeting was never planned.

quote:

transfers, transfers and more transfers

Players often transfer when there is a coaching change but if you were paying attention, the transfer flood gate was opened during CLM's tenure. Plenty of guys left before CEO was ever in charge.

quote:

player dismissals

Should we keep players on the roster that can't follow the rules or the law?

quote:

media blackout of camp

When installing a new offense, why would anyone allow outside eyes to criticize the team when they are working out the kinks?

quote:

new practice ways that obviously hasnt worked

How do you know they don't work? cuz we lost one game? what MSU is a top 10 team? what if we just arent that good? I think its a mixture of both. None of our seniors chose to come back over going to the NFL because none of them are very good. The only Jrs that are any good are Key, Guice, Brumfield and Clapp. The rest are all subpar. All our best players are Freshman and Sophmore.

quote:

Jacoby Stevens mismanagement

How was this a mismanagement? First off it was Jacoby's choice to move to WR and he is free to move back whenever he wants. Secondly, he wouldnt be playing on defense either.

quote:

ton of player suspensions

This is a result of CLM letting his players have free reign. This is nothing but CEO letting the players know that there is a new sheriff in town and that things are gonna change.

quote:

not showing anything the first two games

This is a legitimate gripe. We should have practiced some of our new stuff in easy games so that it would be better executed against the better teams.

quote:

being blown out to MSU

Again, at this point how do you know that MSU isnt a top 10 team. They sure looked pretty stout to me last Saturday night. Time will tell but at this point, we dont know that MSU isn't just that good or if we just are that bad.

quote:

not running 4 WR sets until down by 30 on road

This is also a legit gripe. We have the WRs, let them play. Steve Spurrier was quoted in the late 90's telling his OC about stud player that if he doesn't know all the plays, then teach him one play and we can start there but by God get him in the game.

quote:

Guice Range Rover gate

I'm sure CEO had a talk with him about responsible Social media use. I dont see how you can fault the coach on that one. Even Saban's players post pics of their Chargers.

There are legit things to gripe about and most of the stuff you pointed out arent them.

1)why do we keep an OL coach that can;t recruit or develop OT's? its been his MO since he was at Auburn in 2010.

2)Why not let our Specimen of WRs play?

3)Why did we bring Lawrence to MSU knowing he can't play and leave Justin Thomas at home knowing we have depth issues?

4) why are all our running plays right up the middle? why can't we give guice the ball on an outside zone play?

These are all legit questions.
