Washington does not play anyone in the top 15 this season

They are currently #6 and likely won't lose a game. Even if they drop one, they'll still likely make the playoff at 11-1.
They play three ranked opponents:
#25 UCLA
#19 Stanford
#21 Washington State
Nonconference schedule:
Rutgers
Montana
Fresno
If you gave a team like LSU, Auburn or Wisconsin that schedule, they'd likely go undefeated. Instead, those teams will have 2-3 losses each as a reward for playing legit opponents.
There is no reward for playing a tough schedule in the NCAA and this needs to change.

quote:you know what "likely" means? None of those teams would have a >50% chance of going undefeated.

They'll still have a PAC-12 championship game as well. If they make it.

They'd play in the pac 12 championship game as well, presumably against a top 10 USC team

Well, they are on the west coast so yeah, what would you expect?

One or two of these teams plus Oregon could easily be top 15 by the time they play.

you think that's bad? Take a gander at Wisc's schedule

Or Wisconsin that schedule
Actually our schedule blows this year too

Washington used to schedule extremely difficult OOC. The last couple years have been pathetic. I imagine most of these schedules were made when they still sucked and wanted some easy wins.

Wisconsin has a pretty forgiving schedule, which is fine.

This...Sark and Woodward scheduled down bigtime for wins
2007: @ Syracuse, Boise St, Ohio St
2008: BYU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame
2009: LSU, Idaho, @ Notre Dame <-- Sark Year One
2010: @ BYU, Syracuse, Nebraska
2011: Eastern Wash, Hawaii, @ Nebraska
2012: San Diego St, @ LSU, Portland St

Washington first two = #153 hardest
They may get beat out of playoff by a p5 runner up.
Lsu ooc schedule is next worst in sagarin top 10.
Syracuse is bad.

Because BYU, Chattanooga, Troy and Syracuse are world beaters?
What do you want them to do? They play in the PAC 12 North. They can't help their conference slate.
Florida, Moo St, TAMU, and Arkansas are all on par or worse than UCLA & Oregon. Stanford is better than the listed teams. Auburn and Bama are the only true test for LSU.

We used to always schedule top opponents. Sark came in and wanted the easy wins, so our OOC schedule became pathetic. Petersen is trying to fix it, but for how far out games are scheduled, it's difficult. We do open with Auburn next year and also have a home and home with Michigan starting the year after I believe.

I don't think we'll make it in with 1 loss this year. I could easily see the top Big 12, Big 10, ACC, and SEC team making it in over us. If we do go undefeated and end the season with beating UCLA, Oregon, Stanford, Utah, Washington State, and USC, then we'll be in for sure.

As you know that could change just like folks who play team that are ranked early, ate the end of the year those teams aren't even close to ranked.
Not enough of a sample size for stuff like this yet.

Exactly. I mean the only team Oregon plays before the UW game is WSU and that games is starting to look winnable with Falk out and their passing game anemic. This could change a lot.
