Just look at where Saban puts his bye week every year... that is all we need to know.

Alabama is easy to defend to me if I'm a DC, but Aranda is a top echelon DC, so no worries there. Keep Hurts in the pocket and force him to pass, like Cam Newton it's his weakness, he's not a accurate or good passer. Do not let him get out the pocket and use his legs to make plays both running and passing, that's what he wants to do. LSU shut him down last year, but they wore down from no offensive help with Etling looking terrified. He escaped from the pocket on their only touchdown.

It can go either way, actually, but I much prefer going to an LSU game rather than a LSU game.

LSU is probably the only SEC team that creates some degree of concern for Saban.

Former (Bama) players mention this all the time.

The key will be Corey Thompson. He will likely spy Hurts the entire game. If he can keep him contained we stand a good chance of shutting their offense down.

Athletes that's why. LSU is the only team that matches up with them athlete for athlete, Saban knows that. He left LSU, but Miles continued bringing in those types of athletes, but he (Saban) went to Alabama and did the same thing, started bringing in those great athletes like he did at LSU. But Bama idiots swear they had those type of atletes first the damn dumb asses.

Not my type of DC's dumb arse, but a fool like you will take'em in a second. I don't care for DC's that aren't aggressive, I like the ones that use the great athletes that they know they have to get after offenses, that's what Saban did when he was there and that's what Aranda does now. Chavis and Pelini (passive-aggressive defenses), LOL they'll give up chunks of yardage, the damn doesn't bust, but comes close to it. But in Chavis' case it does bust on occasions. But what do I know, I don't know football according to you. Lmao

At that point he had yet to see LSU take a snap and was going strictly off of paper.

Now he can form a more educated opinion and may feel differently. Peoples opinions can change

They didn't have Corey Thompson last season and did a great job containing him, buy you're right Corey Thompson should be a real force in the D this year. He is a good ball player with good speed to make plays. LSU has always been good defensively at containing running play making QB's. (Manziel, Louisville QB forget his name, and now Hurts)

"An" is the correct indefinite article to use in front of an initialism starting with the vowel sound "ell", such as "LSU".

Well if we would beat them then maybe we will be viewed as a threat in the future. Getting beat 6 times in a row will cause people to think that way.

Jalen Hurts is not a good QB

I beg to differ. That boy is stout, can run as he does on us on occassion, and can make the throws. Remember he is a true Sophomore. I wish he was not good, then we could have a better chance to beat him. With all that said, I hope he sucks big time in November due our defense on his arse

Correct. They had Dwayne Thomas. He played the role that Thompson will play this year and he was the most disruptive player in that game. He had 9 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 PD and 1 QBH.

LSU's defense is back now in thanks to Dave fricking Aranda, thank you Aranda

I'm very pleased that Aranda is our DC, but he is NOT the reason for our great defense last year and this year. The reason is talent. Dave Aranda's defense was shat upon by Alabama when Aranda was at Wisconsin.

Our defense was great under Chavis until we ran thin on the line. Once Bennie Logan exited, the year after Brockers, we had to rely on Freak (who was anything but), Ego, and a freshman LaCouture. And the next year it was La Couture and a freshman Godchaux with no depth.

It was only last year that our line matured enough to run talent and depth onto the field. When you combine that with our back seven, that is consistently the most talented in the country, we had an elite defense in any good DC's hands.

Like I wrote, I'm glad to have him. I like his approach even more than I liked Chavis'. But if we had Kevin Steele as DC right now we'd have an elite defense - just not quite as good as the one we have.
