This morning on Mike and Mike, Herbie was on and they asked him what was wrong with the Gump offense and he said, "Florida State's defense is very good! They have a LSU defense!"

At least somebody is realizing how good we are!

With limited exceptions, LSU's defense has been the only group that can generally stand toe-to-toe with Bama's personnel. He may not admit it, but LSU is probably the only SEC team that creates some degree of concern for Saban. He knows that generally LSU's starting 11 (particularly on defense) can match up man for man with his guys.

I dont disagree at this point. Auburn can move the ball. Our ability to do so against an SEC caliber defense is thus far unproven. There are some hopeful signs, but we dont know yet

I think, other than Auburn, Saban and Co. take the LSU game more seriously than any other non-championship/non-playoff game.

Maybe that's hubris on my part, but that's how I see it.

If only we had "an LSU" defense in 2013...

Auburn didn't exactly beat a juggernaut this past week. They're just as unproven and don't have the defense we do. If you didn't hear it live, it's not going to bother you as much. He immediately dismissed us as any kind of threat. That's just ridiculous, and that's not homer talk.

Well for the first time in a few years we have a possible a different offensive gameplan evolving. Even with the change of HC, last season was not very deviated from the brick wall offense of the old regime.

Your correction is wrong. Good try though.

He said the same on the broadcast, it was nice to hear. I didn't hear him dismiss LSU as a threat, but we haven't beat them in 6 years. Can you blame him? It's been long enough that LSU is going to have to prove they are contenders again. We aren't getting the benefit of the doubt like we used to, and frankly, I think it's good for the program that there is a fresh need to prove ourselves.

When in the very next sentence he said Auburn is, yes.

Uhhh.. maybe their offense sucks too. Jalen Hurts is not a good QB. They have one WR. Loaded at RB.

Overall - not impressed with Bama's offense.

LSU's defense is back now in thanks to Dave fricking Aranda, thank you Aranda. But it disappeared when Chavis was in control, dude was a horrible DC and people couldn't see it at first, but I did. LSU's great athletes made him look good like they make every coach look good, but he gave up yards in chunks because of that crap he had them playing. But now Aranda has returned them back to the dominant D they were and yes, I have to say it, back to the dominant D they were when coach Saban was there.

"An" is the correct indefinite article to use in front of an initialism starting with the vowel sound "ell", such as "LSU".

Assuming Auburn has the same kind of talent they usually do, they will have a decent offense. I think we will too, but they have a track record. Under Canada, we don't yet.
