Did they control for confounding factors? For instance, most kids raised by same sex couples are adoptees or foster children. It's possible that those kids already had "issues" regardless of who ended up being their parents.

Sullins' study, which used information from the nonpartisan National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health to track children raised by 20 same-sex couples (17 lesbian couples and 3 gay couples) over a period of 13 years (1995 to 2008), found that the problems with those raised in same-sex homes often began to surface in their twenties.
And apparently the journal was heavily criticized for it, and had to issue a statement. Often times the criticisms are unwarranted, but in this case it's warranted.

but do they have anymore issues than growing up in a single parent household or as a ward of the State?
What are you comparing..or claiming? Gheys can't be single parents because their partner left and the kid can't becomes a ward of the state because....ghey????

The biggest threat to a child's physical well-being is allowing a non- related male into the household. The infamous baby- Daddy replacement.

So does institutional child molestation and cover-ups.
it's funny that you bring that up first they weren't children they were adolescent boys that's very different than pedophilia, secondly the priest were the result of the church actively pursuing homosexuals for the priesthood thinking that their vow of celibacy would insulate those priest from there natural homosexual tendencies. they thought wrong.
homosexuals begin their lives as homosexuals as adolescents typically engaging in sex with a person we would consider an adult.
that's why the CDC begins compiling statistics on gay males beginning at age 11.

Or how about comparing a loving, stable same sex household to a dysfunctional and/or abusive male-female household?
...oorrr..how about comparing a loving, stable traditional household to a dysfunctional and/or abusive same sex household??

The traditional family unit was destroyed a long time ago... Unfortunately, I think it is too late to do anything about it and it did not start with the "gheys" being allowed to marry...
If us heteros hadn't screwed marriage up so badly that it wasn't valued anymore, we wouldn't have gays marrying.

The intellectual bankruptcy of this board...
"Don't preach research to me because I know those scientists are faking the data to get grant funding."
A sham of an article comes around that confirms their world view...
"Yep, I knew kids raised by gays was a bad idea... after all, they did a study on it."

1+1=2 whether it fits your worldview or not.

isn't that what this study kinda did?

I feel like while this is true it's not the whole story. How much of it is contributed to it not being accepted widely in society as a whole and those children being shunned because of it.
for example if you did a study on children of interracial couples in the 60's compared to now you would get two completely different results. When you have bible thumping Christians and people telling a child their parents are sinners and going to hell and what they are doing is wrong of course it's going to have an effect.

You're pretty stupid aren't you. Notice that was a declaration, not a question. Read right in the article where it states that he used data compiled by a third party. the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health . I'm so sick of stupid people.

An institution that is famous for it's abuse of children by it's priests says gay parents are bad. Ok. Sure.

So people telling Christians that they're backwards and regressive has a harmful effect on the children of Christian families?

If the study were well-powered enough to make a statistically relevant comparison, my world view wouldn't matter... there would be something to legitimately parse.

It is too small a sample size to get excited about either way. But that's always going to be an issue in conducting a study on something that really isn't that common.

Plenty of kids are abused by their bio fathers -- even sexually.
