We have seen how Valyrian Steel can kill the White Walkers.

It's recepie seems to be lost, but as far as we have seen, only dragon glass and that steel can kill and battle them.

I don't know much about how metals are forged, but it seems as if the glass was mixed in with the molten process. Or do you think it would burn away any non metal impurities?

Feels like someone would have made the connection, which would possibly save on the glass to be rationed and made the most of, and at the same time, arming more men. Especially with arrows.

Do you think Gendry, as a lifelong steel worker, could manufacture a way of providing an army with these weapons?

I hope thats the direction they're going in. It's been my theory that there will be 7 survivors, or somehow the Faith of the 7 gods will be the most prominent characters towards the end of the show, and will be the ones that are the most responsible for defeating the Others.
The Father- Tyrion?
The Mother- Cerci/Dany?
The Warrior- The Hound/ Jamie/Jon Snow?
The Smith- Gendry. I can't think of who els this could be.
The Maid- Sansa?
The Crone- Old Nan?
The Stranger- Arya
I've been playing with this idea since Religion (and prophecies) are such a big deal, and the 7 is really the only religion that doesn't have anything supernatural about it.

He's going to need to get some Valerian steel armour for Drogon and Rheagal.

Oh, and as I said in another post, I think he may reforge Ice. They made too much of a deal about that sword in both the books and the show for it to not have significance.

Look for Sam to rediscover the recipe for VS or for Gendry to figure it out on his own. I bet it's in one of the books/scrolls Sam took with him when leaving the citadel. Either way, I'll bet it's coming back.

I always thought he would end up figuring out how to make valyrian steel but it's pretty much too late for that now that the dead are beyond the wall

Couldn't Bran just use his GodswoodGoogle to wacth it being forged and talk Gendry through it?

My theory:

That when the ground up dragon glass is combined with the steel in the forging process, they glass may disappear in the process but the magical properties of the glass will remain and will make it Valyrian Steel.

Not sure how this works out with the apparent need for the person forging it to recite spells while doing so and the use of blood magic. Maybe these two aren't required after all.
