What was the most inconvenient wedding you were ever asked to attend?

I'm sure some self-absorbed bride had to have her wedding at a place that was only available the weekend of a big football game, or a couple thought it would be cool to be married in Key West.

Asked to pay my own way to Scotland to stand in a wedding.

Said no.

If it's inconvenient for you just don't go. The bride and groom definitely understand (and probably hope) their entire guest list can't make it.

Other than the obligatory football weekends

the worst I had was a hot humid August wedding in South Mississippi, because she had to be married on some particluar "special" day just for her.

And yes, they are divorced now.

Destination weddings are so selfish. The bride and groom are probably getting a free trip off the number of guests they get to the resort.

I tell friends (only somewhat tongue-in-cheek) who have destination weddings, that if they get divorced, I expect to be reimbursed.

You just don't get married during FB season. It's an unwritten rule

Crap. Just realized I scheduled my wedding during a busy Bowl Game day.

Belk Bowl
Hyundai Sun Bowl
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl
Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic

Good thing LSU is going to the Natty so I won't miss it.

It's nobody's fault, but I'm in a wedding in Natchez MS in October 2 weeks after I move and start a new job. I'll be in Orlando at a 2 week long conference the weekend of the wedding so I have to fly in and back to Orlando for the weekend.

Wedding in Poplarville MS (we were all from NOLA) for a good friend with 14 groomsmen/bridesmaid; they had known each other for about 6 months before getting engaged. County and the wedding were dry - not even a cash bar. All his friends hated her and her family. Bride tried to get everybody to do the wobble for our "wedding party dance."

A Thursday wedding in Houston. It required me to take 3 days vacation and I didnt get to go anywhere cool like a real destination wedding.

Home of ZERO good restaurants.

I've heard of a reception in Hawai'i for a LDS Temple Wedding (where only Mormons in "good standing" with the Church can actually go into the temple and witness the ceremony. So some folks travel for the wedding but can't actually see the wedding.

Wouldn't be me.
