LSU has 4 million reasons to play this game and make sure it's broadcast on ESPN.

I did and that reasoning is stupid. You can change flights and cancel hotels 24 hours prior.

Yes we never cancel or move games due to weather. Never.

Given the fact that this storm will likely sit over Houston for some time. I expect then to decide Tuesday or Wednesday if this game will be played or not.

Statement From LSU Athletics Regarding Hurricane Harvey:

quote:
First and foremost, our thoughts and best wishes are with our neighbors in South Texas and of course with our friends and family here in South Louisiana as Hurricane Harvey draws near. We know all too well the challenges of facing a storm of this magnitude and stand ready to assist in any way we can.

The season-opening football game against BYU in Houston September 2nd remains as scheduled. We are actively monitoring the situation in South Texas and will be in regular contact with Houston officials and NRG Stadium representatives to fully assess conditions on the ground while keeping a close eye on developments here in Louisiana as the storm unfolds.

The game will be played in Houston.

I was asking him a question

So y'all are so mad because they didn't say exactly what you wanted them to in their statement... gotcha

That one sentence everyone is crying about would not affect you or anyone else that's crying about it.. you would not make any decisions based off of that one statement... the storm's aftermath and the game is too far away...

it's just mind boggling that people are so upset about this

now you are going so far as to say Lsu doesn't have a plan....as if it is fact.

Yes, everything in Joe Alleva's past screams that he is a forward thinking planner. Nothing at all catches him off guard.

I swear these people just became lsu fans in the last month, because how DARE we suggest that Joe isn't thinking ahead.

This line from the Advocate article seems important
quote:

LSU administrators will be in "regular contact" with Houston officials regarding the impacts of the storm, the school said in a statement. Kickoff officials, contacted Friday by The Advocate, are not yet ready to reveal potential scenario if the storm does affect the game.

Remember, this thing is run by the Texas Bowl/Advocare group, and any decision is going through them. Sounds like they have plans but aren't saying anything yet.

We have a history of fricking this shite up. This shows corrections have not been made despite weather having an effect on our schedule for 2 years in a row.

Maybe if we had a history of proper management within the athletic department under Allevas watch, no one would really give a second thought to this statement. But that's not the world we live in.

If by "we" you me University of Florida, then I agree. LSU has done very well rescheduling games due to Hurricanes.
