Ignore the media and this will all go away. Granted, ignoring them will just cause them to try that much harder but whatever

Antifa and Nazis only represent a tiny tiny portion of the left and right, respectfully. Yet the media portrays both sides, especially the right, being made up of nothing but extremists. There's no middle ground in their eyes anymore

If people would ignore this crap and going about their daily lives living and working together, left and right, we'd all be much better off.

This is the trendy topic at the moment. Each summer it happens, last year was Baltimore, before that Ferguson, etc. it'll eventually go away. Just ignore it

Honestly this is the actual problem.

Social media has given everyone an opinion the opportunity to express it in public.

So everyone now thinks they are a special snowflake...when in reality none of us.

The middle has to destroy the fringes, that's all there is to it. Best way is to make them fight it out then clean up the mess

The minute violent mobs were showing up to "protest" and assault Trump supporters at rallies this was practically an inevitability. The street incidents becoming normalized can only naturally escalate and that's exactly what we're seeing. I said it then and it's plainly evident now, political violence in the streets is fundamentally dangerous to a democracy. And the really scary thing is that the media and the left are very hesitant to condemn it on the left as abhorrent while, now the opportunity has presented itself, are framing it as a product of violent Nazis and Klansmen and they cry "false equivalency" when the TRUTH is exposed that Antifa and left wing radicals are every bit as responsible and complicit in this street violence.

Trump's words were completely accurate and I applaud him for not falling into the media trap of allowing Antifa and radical leftists to escape their culpability in this state of affairs.

It will reach a tipping point then come back down.

It always does.

This time last year this board was convinced a race war was coming.

People calming down would be the first thing. I've gone outside today and the world isn't any different. People are being polarized solely due to the media, on both sides, which drive home biases that are confirmed over and over again. Any alt group that exists is very small in number, with respect to the 340 mil people in this country.

What we are going through right now is nothing. In July of 1967, there were 17 racial riots in different cities. Since 2000, there have been 10 total. People are freaking out because the real effects of the 2008 crash are starting to surface, like the alienation of young people and the abandonment of various traditions.

We have to realize what we have, and realize that it's alright to disagree, and that disagreement isn't something that defines people. It's just disagreement.

That said, we have a lot further to go before we reach bottom, and whether that will mean war, or something else is an entirely different issue.

You very well know there is hardly any honest discussion on this board man. It's honestly turned me off. When the primaries were taking place 2 years ago that was the last time different factions of this board had honest discussions. I miss those arguments alot. This board should not be indicative of the rest of the country, alot of people express there strong opinions about Trump on here as a vessel others that hate him do it via Twitter comments and Facebook.

I still don't see any leader what so ever stepping up to the plate anytime soon with true real intentions of helping honest hard working Americans.

Got any friends? There's your answer.

The computer and the TV are basically lying to you that this is a universal problem in the country.

HHTM, of all people, has been telling y'all for days now. And he's right.

Nailed it. Its a mob mentality now. People find ways to be perpetually offended while others don't want to stand up for what they believe in because they don't want an out of context screen shot posted on their employer's Facebook page.

The Left is doing exactly what it did with Gay Marriage. They labeled any opponent a bigot and it didn't matter if you had a reasonable objection to it. We're seeing that play out here and its just going to get worse. People don't want an exchange of ideas. They want to be pissed off and label all opponents as evil.

My friends all lean right but my SO's friends are almost all far left and I might as well take a shite on the floor rather than defend Trump or Rs in front of them.

Absence of truth is just hard to stomach. I honestly think I could live better in an openly progressive country where I'm just a total minority than here, with both sides just absolutely full of shite and a media apparatus that shills for one or the other incessantly.
