quote:unfortunately? That shite is awesome. I dont have a cat cause my neighbor does. But i was walking up to his back door earlier this year and saw his cat laying down with a snake right next to it. when i got close, thinking the snake was dead, the snake tried to slither away. The cat slammed her paw on the snaked head and drug it back close to her. it was awesome.
Unfortunately, they also like to bring their living, breathing prize snakes up to the door step to show off and play with.

They keep rodents and snakes away from your property.
They are good companion animals.
They know where they are supposed to urinate and defecate.
They clean themselves and don't smell like sweaty crap.
They require little maintenance.
They can stay by themselves in a closed in environments for several days without expensive boarding.

I took my kids on vacation for a week. Only thing I had to do for the cat was leave the sack of cat food on its side. We have a doggy door, so he just comes and goes as he pleases.
If we didn't bother to leave him food, he would have just killed birds and squirrels for sustenance. Since we did leave food he killed them for fun.
He goes to the bathroom outside, so we don't have to clean a litter box.
The only thing I have to do for him is give him heartworm medicine once every other month.

All of your points are spot on but this is a very underrated one

Meh. If anyone is worse, it's dog people.
News flash, no one gives a shite about your dog so stop talking about it.

dont associate people with cats who perform a job (killing mice) with the lonely old maids who put sweaters on them and sing them lullabies.

I like dogs and cats. Had both growing up. Never did get the cats vs. dogs war.

FAIL
Cats kill off unsanitary rodents, snakes, and other small animal populations. They're also much much easier to take care of and much lower maintenance than dogs.
Here's an interesting tidbit. Killing off cats in the Middle Ages contributed to the spread of the Bubonic Plague as the disease-carrying rats multiplied and spread the disease.

if your cat could eat you, it would. And deep down they know it's true
So would a dog.
Plus, cat owners don't have to worry about their house being torn to shreds while they are gone because someone accidentally knocked on the front door.
Also, cat owners can leave the cat in the house on a long weekend (extra food and water) and not board or bother their friends. You try that with a dog, and your house will look (and smell) like the ground in a zoo's elephant enclosure by the time you get home.

Bears are in the canine family. They're basically over-sized dogs, and yes they will eat you, obviously.
