Not a cat lover by any means but the best thing about our cat is it lets me know someone is coming to my door without making a sound, so I can avoid all human contact with strangers. The little SOB will sit up straight and then run behind the chair a full min. Before anyone knocks. I guess he hears them coming up the drive.
And he kills the frick out of chipmunks when he's outside.

Nah. Dogs are the only ones that even have a case against cats. More useless than cats:
Birds
Lizards
Tarantulas
Frogs
Turtles
Fish
Cats kill spiders and mice so that alone makes them more useful than every pet besides dogs.

Not a huge fan of cats either. There is only one legitimate use that I can think of. They are sadistic, killing machines. They are great for killing pests. This was probably of particular importance in the past before the relatively high sanitation standards of the modern world.
