How many more years does coastal Louisiana have before everyone has to leave?

I don't want to start an argument about climate change or about what has caused / is causing the coast to disappear. At this point it doesn't matter, since there will never be enough money to fix it. I love the idea of coastal restoration as much as the next guy, but I just don't see it.
I suppose you could include metro NOLA in this discussion as well, since a city kept dry only by levees is sorta worthless, and won't last long. What's scary is that there are a million people living inside those levees (including me and my family).
So help me out, geoscientists. How long do we have?

I believe I read somewhere that when the coast finally goes...all the way up to I-10, New Orleans will actually stay dry

The Dutch people all paid in (and dearly) for that amazing system, because the threat was to virtually the entire country.
People in New York and California aren't ponying up for a Netherlands-quality flood protection system to save part of Louisiana. It would cost a trillion dollars.

Why do so many want people that are happy in their dwellings to be forced to move inland to middle America?

The dutch dont have to worry about:
1)net soil loss and coastal soil erosion
2)hurricanes
3)the mississippi river changing course

And then New Orleans and its levees become an island bounded by the river (or whats left of the levees) and lake ponchartrain.

Yeah, you don't have to worry about anyone moving to that crap hole.

All I ever heard is "we're losing a football field every minute"... I figured the gulf would be up to Baton Rouge by now...
