My obvious and true answer is my family.. my grandma, my parents, the in-laws, all my aunts, uncles, and cousins (with the exception of a few) live around here

I've often considered moving, but something about here just makes me want to stay. While the shithole of New Orleans is only 5-10 minutes away from where I live, I am lucky enough to live in a good, safe community that has a good public school system. When I was younger, I hated living in a small town because it seemed like everyone knew who i was. Now that I'm older and have a child, I can kind of appreciate the fact that I will have eyes and ears all over the place.. not sure how JR will feel about that though

With all that being said, I'd be lying if I told you that I haven't seriously considered taking my young family and leaving.. I just don't have the heart to go

I enjoyed my time in Houston but most people have the choice of an hour plus commute every day or spending big money to live inside the loop. The low cost of living and good schools people talk about on here isn't close to where most of the jobs are

The better thread would be "What keeps you from coming back to Louisiana"

Snowflakes who are so special they have to leave their home are the worst kinds of snowflakes. Man up and quit bitching.

I don't believe the liars that say it's better away from Louisiana.

It's a web of lies to get us to move so the carpetbaggers can return and take our ancestral lands.

Is Louisiana shitty? Yes. But the shittiness keeps out the yankees and try hards which is good.

This is the truth right here. I'd love to return home as I do miss family, friends, LSU (just Louisiana in general) but the positives of living in the DFW area outweigh the Louisiana positives for me at this time. With that said, my mother is getting up there in age in Baton Rouge and I'd love to spend more time with her.

DFW to MSY is 1hr baw.

You can literally be there anytime you want.

Typically 4~6 flights everyday. I usually take the earliest one 6AM.
