Not a fan of Grimes. Was surprised he was retained. I think we change coaches at that position after this year unless OL has great season.
I'm not impressed with you either buddy. Apparently, you don't pay much attention or you don't care.

Haven't been able to block bama since he's been here
It was hard to block Alabama when they knew every play that was coming before the ball was snapped. That wasn't the offensive line's fault, that was the incredibly uncreative offense's fault we had been running for way too long. Hopefully, though, Coach Canada can use that over aggressiveness against them in very creative ways to give us some quick scores.

The product on the field doesn't always show it, but our run blocking the past several years are hard to argue against statistically. Was watching a few replays of last year's teams and there were some games were our oline could not be stopped. Granted we're talking about the Texas A&Ms and Mizzous of the world.
It is hard to figure out what's up with the OL, except for the lack of natural tackles being recruited (and it shows). 17 (25? a couple years ago) sacks is too much for a team that throws as little as we do.
They are schizophrenic. Just dominant sometimes, blowed the frick up others. Manhandled UF at times last year, destroyed by Bama often. Sometimes struggle against weaker teams, other times look like 5 future NFL'ers.
Two things I noticed:
1. Last two years probably one of the best OLs I've ever seen at getting blocks at the secondary level. They get to LBs, with the right angles and sustain blocks. That's where they propped Guice/Fournette up some.
2. Can't handle stunts and/or LBs crashing gaps. Those same LBs that they drive when they run them down past the LoS, they whiff on if they crash a gap. I get so pissed when I see two D players meet at the QB, and there's 3 OL not even engaged. Get a hat on somebody. Zone blocking is supposed to slow such things down.
Both are due to coaching. Again, schizophrenic... some evidence of great coaching there. And then failure on some basic stuff. Head scratchers.

There is no trend. Each defection or issue has it's own reason. Change is opportunity and we still have great starting experience.

Deculus wI'll be ready to contribute if need be. We will be fine.

Wouldnt be surprised when Bama pushes their shite in....again. Seems like every time we think the line is gonna be ballin, they run into the 800 lb gorilla with a chansaw for a dick (Bama) and then proceed to struggle for the rest of the year.

ust about every publication that does so ranked LSU's offensive line number one in the country last season.

Pro football focus also had Sam Bradford rated as the NFLs best QB at one point last season. That site is a sham full of hacks. Our Oline gave up 22 hits on 25 drop backs against Bama, couldn't gain a yard on the ground in that game and couldn't gain an inch vs Florida inside the redzone. We couldn't block Syracuse's pass rush the year before either. Grimes sucks and our Oline has steadily declined since he's been here. It was him who convinced Miles we didn't need true Tackles all we needed was 5 good run blockers to be successful.

LSU has had one of the best offensive lines in the country for years now. Les Miles' lack of creativity made it kind of hard to tell though , because our offense would always get bogged down since everyone knew what was coming.

They are getting their shite pushed in by Louisville on TV right now. Didn't realize they held Guice that close the first 1.5 quarters.!

I think I'll scream if I hear another person use the term "eye test". That's nothing but an opinion that is subject to human bias and human error. It's based on no objective or concrete measures or facts. This is the kind of thinking that got Bama a mulligan game back on 1/9/2012.
Also, NOBODY is going to run the ball well against a great defense like Bama's if there is no threat of a passing attack. You have to be able to complete short passes in order to set up the run in that scenario. Clemson could do this the last two years. LSU's passing game has been a joke for a long time now.

That is changing this season. We return everyone but pocic and clapp will be fine there. We're really good at G. And above avg at T. At lease starters. If they stay healthy we gonna be solid at oline. Plus Bama lost a lot in front 7

I guess those 10 different threads on the rant and all of those many articles I read were all lying, according to you, a severely mentally handicapped lunatic. Very apparently, all you are is a certified idiot. That and you also never learned to read and obviously also don't know crap about football either. Do me a favor you moonbat, go take a hike and get lost.

Idk but LSU is going to need either elite freshman, or experienced transfers as soon as they can get them. It's getting thin
Posted on 7/31/17 at 12:03 am to TNTigerman
Nah not this year but next will be an issue if we can't get some guys that are ready to go immediately.

I have a couple if advanced metrics for you.
1.2 yards per carry vs Alabama
29 attempted passes vs Alabama 5 sacks 22 hits on the QB
2.9 yards per carry for LSUs running backs vs Florida and Alabama combined
19 carries 33 yards 1.7 yards per carry- red zone rushing stats at home vs Florida.
We must've had the worst best offensive line in history. But then again the only actual site anyone has produced that said we had the best Oline was football focus and nobody with sense takes anything they put out seriously.

Why did you post the Bama stats, then combine them with the Florida stats to bring them down? Maybe you should do that with every game to further your agenda?
In the Florida game RBs averaged 4.0 ypc. All runs totaled 219 yds and 4.9 ypc. Guice averaged 4.4 and LF 3.3. Obviously playing a gimpy LF was a bad call. You can certainly discuss the struggles with pass protection under Grimes and there are many contributing factors (ie. predictable scheme, guards playing OT) but at least be intellectually honest in your argument.
