Happy wife, happy life.
Cheaper to keep her.( in my case, probably not yours yet, until you have kids)
Both very true. I just let my wife spend. Eventually she'll run out of stuff to buy or places to put it. Warning though, been married 6 years and there's still no light at the end of the tunnel.

It actually can be curbed. Cut off her access to any money you earn. Allow her to spend only the money she earns, after half of the bills are paid from what she earns.
This does come with problems though. It will get drier than the Sahara, she will get two credit cards you don't know about and grow the balances about $1K a month, and she will occasionally come home a little bruised when Tyrone got too excited.
The good thing is that she probably won't file for divorce for 6-8 months though.
Understand that she sees marriage as adding an income for the spending habits she wants to attain. She, as a shopper, has gone pro.

Take that thought, put it in a folder and file it under "Wishful Thinking"

This part I don't mind. If I had to do the decorating the house would look like shite.
I'd have white walls, maybe a Jack Daniels mirror and pics of saltwater fishing trips. I definitely don't do interior design

I'm not married. However, the phrase, "Your mom came home with a whole bunch of crap." is a staple of my father to this day.

tell us how you'd handle the situation if you just got off from a long day's work and came home to a messy house, children that haven't been bathed, and your wife not having dinner ready yet?
We leave and get home at roughly the same time. Make almost tye same money too.I help her finish it all. Team effort.

Setup my wife her own spending account. A certain amount gets deposited every two weeks and I don't gaf what she spends it on as long as it lasts (she works too)
I like this. I'll tell her she has x amount of dollars to spend a month on bs. I think it'll mean a lot too as long as i stick to it as well.
It'll be good for me since i like to buy toys anyway

This part is a sticky situation when you make almost double what she does. Have had that fight and I don't remember winning

When you visit her best friend's house always check for mail in your wife's name. They are called credit cards.

In this situation. We already had that talk. We ended up with a couple of joint accounts. It hasn't been bad so far. I keep track of the money

His and hers mad money accounts is a must in my relationship. And a big arse safe that she doesn't have the combination to for my new guns
ETA - been married for 15 years and we almost never fight about money etc after we put in that system

Tell her you all are going to go broke with all that damn money she thinks she's saving by sales.
Either that or come home with some awesome gun/ golf clubs or fishing gear that you all cannot afford and mention that it was on sale.
I am pretty easy going with spending, but it can get out of hand quickly. Have known some that ended up hiding that stuff from their spouse and ended up with massive CC debt snd having to file for bankruptcy.
