light synchronization

Wasn't this one of Kip's big things? Guess that never panned out.

To be fair, synching the lights only works if they keep people out of the intersections when the light changes. That backs up traffic even worse than it already is by not letting cross traffic through.

Maybe instead of all the brake tag inspection checkpoints, the cops could post up at major intersections and ticket the selfish assholes that clog up intersections when they know they aren't going to make the light.

Hell, the tickets they write from that would probably pay for some of these projects faster than a tax increase.

Left and right turn lanes are desperately needed.

No, I mean he's going to figure out exactly how much NBR is getting and repeat it over and over again.

Just wait, Gravy will let you know shortly. He's already ranting about the small amount of the past GLP that was focused in NBR.

Oh, and he's also demanding that the work in those areas benefit black owned businesses, or in other words, give the construction contracts to black owned companies.

I think it's impossible to make it 4 lanes. You would have cars driving 2 feet from peoples homes.

A center lane would help

Lee from Highland to Perkins is a widening job. It's listed under the capacity projects.

Are they not currently doing this? They've been working on that damn bridge for six months.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be two lanes and a center turn lane. Right-of-way will be taken from both sides to do that.

If this is truely the case, shouldn't WBR, Ascension, and Livingston Parrish's be putting in also. Much of the EBR traffic is due to those Parrish's, yet they are exempt from any of the taxes to make their commute a little better.

Yehhhhh, that's not how it works. Maybe if EBR would keep their shite together better, more people wouldn't move the hell away.

Lee Drive needs to be 5 laned from Nicholson to Perkins.

Build for the needs of the future, not just for today.

This is what really needs to happen. we really don't want it turning into the atrocity that is the new Staring Lane.

The number of one way/do not enter signs are comical. I know there must be a law somewhere that regulates that, but that instance shows how necessary they are (especially if you compare to Bluebonnet, Siegen, etc.)

I've been advocating on here for a Capitol Region Transit Authorty with Emminent Domain rights over the three parishes for over a decade. Create a highway use tax for all vehicles registered in those parishes. Fund improvements through the use tax

it is not fair for homeowners in certain zipcodes to foot the bill for roads we all use in this region.

At one time they mentioned trying to do something like this. (probably 5 years ago, haven't heard anything about it since).

Diverging Diamond Interchange

I thought at the time how confusing it would be for EBR drivers

Not really sure what else they could do for College, other than redesign service roads. Constitution should be one way eastbound to enter 10 East, even a flyover would help to get across to Corporate/Citiplace area. You could also have the 10 westbound exit ramp wrap back east to get to Corporate without having the lane shuffle between the exit and Corporate, etc.
