We already voted to widen Nicholson to Lee in GL1. They just ran out of money. The same with a few of the other projects on this new list.

If the property tax passes, they will issue bonds to pay for whatever is left of GL1 plus some additional projects. The 1/2 cent sales tax under GL2 would then be used for maintenance, sidewalks, bike paths, etc.

Or so I'm told.

So basically all the section 8, renters, and culcha won't be the ones footing the bill.

Of course, the right of way for that Lee job could inflate the hell out of the estimated cost they have right now. That goes for lots of the projects.

interesting how that always works. Propose a tax, pass the tax, collect the tax. Then run out of money and say you need another higher tax.

and people here wonder why the statewide gas tax failed. LOL

Seems to be a lot of road projects in the Essen/Perkins/Bluebonnet/I-10 area.

What is "regional infrastructure improvements". Why is that not detailed? Is this list provided in more detail on another website?

Well seeing as he lives in his mothers house, he isn't effected by this. Hell, he doesn't even have a real job so he is double covered not to pay.

I still remember Kip saying that before that plan started that it had been 40 years since BR had an infrastructure plan.

I remember. I also remember the zoning and planning commission always improving new developments prior to building the infrastructure to accommodate those developments...example they built Perkins Rowe before widening Perkins.

15 -20 years ago I drove to Corpus and on the SW side of Houston they had 4 lane roads everywhere with no developments...they actually build the infrastructure prior to allowing the developments.

Interstate and bridge projects cost too much for a local plan.

I'd be furious if EBR taxpayers alone had to shoulder the burden of updating all of the state and federal highways in the metro that have been functionally obsolete for 30 years.

South BR has the money so yes we are footing the bill. I'm not expecting her to do nothing for 4 years

without another property assessment increase, it looks like i ill pay another $90 a year for the 5 mil increase.

and the only road improvement by me is Tigerbend to Antioch (about a mile of road)

So are you complaining because you feel like there are other roads in that area that also need improvement, or are you complaining because your taxes will increase and you personally won't see as much of a benefit as all the other people driving along College, Perkins, and other major areas they have proposed to work on?

If this is truely the case, shouldn't WBR, Ascension, and Livingston Parrish's be putting in also. Much of the EBR traffic is due to those Parrish's, yet they are exempt from any of the taxes to make their commute a little better.

I'm about to get down voted to hell.....
