would have thought they would have figured out some kind of road usage tax or something to tax people living outside of BR and working in BR.
Or fund a bypass with all of the through traffic

I noticed how many of the projects have to do with central/greenwell springs area. I guess she's trying to get that vote on board to help push it through. Only problem with that is most of the traffic issues there are due to Livingston Parrish people who have already left EBR. Making bigger and better roads will only make for more traffic.

We have paid taxes for roads forever and still have a terrible infrastructure...allocating more tax dollars will jsut allow them to waste more money.
The problem is that the current Green Light Plan showed how far behind BR was in infrastructure improvements. I still remember Kip saying that before that plan started that it had been 40 years since BR had an infrastructure plan.

We already voted to widen Nicholson to Lee in GL1. They just ran out of money. The same with a few of the other projects on this new list.
Btw, in GL1 there were already synchronization money allocated. How did that go?

What exactly is she going to tax?
Pretty sure I read the other day that it would be a 5 mil property tax.

Does anyone know what the effective tax rate is for an EBRP resident That makes 100k/year? Between fed, state, and local, it's gotta be extremely high.

So basically all the section 8, renters, and culcha won't be the ones footing the bill.

if youre smart you can mitigate a lot of those taxes
but yes it's high especially for what you DONT get out of it.

Exactly. Woody Dumas had the Centroplex. Screen focused on EMS and other areas. When traffic patterns began shifting toward South BR and more along I-10 and not Airline Hwy/Florida Blvd-centric growth, Tom Ed McHugh simply punted.
The agreed upon solution was to simply push traffic onto the interstate. Look where that got us.

When will this narrative ever die?

I haven't gotten into the costs yet, but most of the projects listed are needed.

Why isn't this on the Poli board?
You and Will Cover are the fricking worst.

We've got the highest state sales tax in the country an we've now got a ridiculously high gas tax. A 2.25 millage was just enacted for the COA alone, now a 5.5 millage for this, etc....

Well, Section 8 wouldn't be affected, right?

Easy, just raise property taxes again to solve the future traffic problem. More traffic later on? Easy, just raise property taxes again to solve the future traffic problem...
