That's actually becoming a dangerous proposition.
The issue with BLM is that if you already are not in agreement with their philosophy, you are shunned.
I can try to have a discussion with certain leaders, but it is a very tough hill to climb. All of BLM is not militant, but the ones who are can be difficult to persuade.

Try to start/participate in a movement to counter the prevailing notion that blacks are perpetual victims. That notion, no matter to what degree it may still be true, is so very corrosive to individual achievement, and therefore to group achievement.

Short term gain , Long term loss.
On the surface it does reduce arrests, thereby lowering the overall image of being a dangerous neighborhood. However, it does nothing to really address the lack of education and by extension lack of employment keeping these people in their situation.
The crime that most people complain about is mostly a symptom of bad home life and lack of opportunity feeding off each other. Negative influences from criminal/irresponsible adults also creates a feedback loop. It is almost like a indoctrination of failure. Not on level of extreme political factions (Ming's China, Nazi Germany, Stalin Russia) but on a de facto level.
I agree with the warnings first approach, but it should be followed up with mandatory seminars about civil responsibility and possible community service penalties.

Pay attention to them when they speak.
Love them more than you love yourself.
Make them work with you.
Do the same chores.
Earn money.
Behave yourself.
Try harder.
