The prospect of big 12 rivals playing twice a year (potentially a lot)

So the round-robin Big 12 is adding a conference title game which I hadn't given much thought to until recently.
The conference has whittled down to be top-heavy in it's biggest rivals sans divisions. Does the prospect of Texas and OU playing twice or OU-OSU bother everyone as much as this Texas fan?
Just more absurdity from the Big 12. Yeah, I know it's mostly Texas and OU's fault for this situation... but as fans we're not in charge.

How is that not right
In the PAC 12 any of the California schools can play twice
In the SEC LSU/ Florida Bama/ Tennessee and Auburn/ Georgia can play twice
In the BIG Purdue/ Indiana could play twice
I am unsure about the ACC and their schedule but isn't Florida St and Miami in different divisions

Yes it is very dumb since we already play a full 9-game round robin schedule. I understand why it was done, but it's still dumb.
The possibility of playing OU twice is extremely bizarre to me.

You just woke up from a coma?

I honestly don't care.
But I think the championship game was made necessary after the TCU v Baylor fiasco a few years ago where Baylor beat TCU and had to share the conference championship which was bullshite. Because of that, the playoff committee didn't even consider a Big 12 team because there wasn't a 'sole winner'.
If H2H isn't going to mean shite in terms of a 'true champion' like the conference said and then went back on, then the championship game is mandatory.
Also, Texas isn't making that game any time soon, so I'm not sure why ya'll give a frick.

If Herman gets Texas going and Riley keeps OU at their current level, then OU and UT could meet regularly in the title game.
That means the Red River Rivalry loses a lot of its luster. One of the best rivalries and games in CFB could be meaningless most years because the teams will meet again in a game that really counts.
Not to mention the potential for teams to play each other twice in the span of 2-3 weeks if they play late in the regular season & again in the Championship game.

Kudos to you for admitting so. It is a bit crazy but I think it looks more ridiculous because the conference did the whole expansion song and dance last year. Of all the major conference, it is definitely the one on shaky ground. Of course OU and Texas will always find a good home but the others have to look over the shoulders. Sad to say that Rutgers has more stability than TCU, Kansas State, and the others.

Not really. This happens in other conferences. For instance, the following SEC championship games have been rematches from the regular season
1999
2000
2001
2003
2004
2010
However, if the Big 12 doesn't have divisions, it's stupid to have a conf. championship game because the championship game will always be a rematch

2014 season - "you need to win a title game"
2016 season - "title games don't matter"
Yeah basically the committee is going to do what it takes to put a big school in the playoffs, so IDK if any of this will even matter.

I'm not scared. Boomer Sooner
It actually makes the Big 12 title game a bigger game than most other conferences, because it is guaranteed to be the best two teams playing each other every time

The Big 12 is a dumpster fire.

Yes, I hate rematches and I hate conference championship games. I do really hope it screws the Big XII out of a playoff spot with an A&M over K-State style upset
