The last boss I had was decent as far making the company money. She took our department into the 21st century. The one big thing I hated about her was that she promoted gossip and backstabbing. Didn't matter if you were a good employee or not. She even let the big gossip/backstabber (women) of the office move in with her. Big time unprofessional. She played a lot of people like puppets. She would backstab people and if you agreed she would run and tell that person that you were talking bad about them. It was a pretty fricked up situation. Glad I am not in that shitstorm anymore!

My contractor boss is a yes man. That likely is his major character flaw. He stays out of my way and never seems to bother me so that's a good thing. My NASA boss is quiet and I hardly ever hear from him, until it's status report time. But I have worked for some guys who wanted to be "in your kitchen" and that's just annoying.

Best "boss" I ever had, hands down was when I was working CCTT at Camp Beauregard. Bill K was the BEST guy to work for. Retired Army Aviator and he knew how to motivate people and get the most from them. One time I dropped a socket down in the well of the Bradley simulator and there was only one way to get it...I lowered Bill by holding onto his feet and he shimmied down and got the socket...we only had one....He even asked that we "PT" on Fridays we weren't training. That included any kind of physical activity..even playing golf. Best job ever until corporate got involved and screwed things up.

My boss pisses me off to no end. He's not a great boss to be honest.

That being said, he treats me like a co-worker and/or son 90% of the time and is a great man who i respect.

My boss and supervisor turn into dicks when the pressure gets to them at the office, but outside of work they are just like one of the guys. We talk sports and both are in my fantasy football league.

I had a boss that I loved the first two years of my job. She was laid back, left me alone and let me do my work, and let me take off pretty much any time I wanted as long as I had the time. Then she retired...

New boss started yesterday and she, wants us to sign in and out at her office to "keep up" with everyone, give TEN days notice for time off and have bi-weekly meetings one on one.

Yeah, he's cool as shite. Probably one of my best friends now. He used to race Ducati bikes before he went into engineering. He's got a hot wife and still pulls a lot of arse. We have that in common.

He is very smart, does great work, and I have learned a lot from him.

He has absolutely no personality whatsoever.

He's very technically proficient, but he's not a good leader. As such, it's held our company back. Been painful to watch.

My boss is okay most of the times, but I swear she's bipolar or something. She'll blow up over smallest things and thinks everyone is out to get her. I get along with her boss a lot more, but she's tried to cut me off and making everything run through her, which doesn't make sense since she's shared with me she's not committed to our company long term. Just trying to placate her until she finally leaves.

Not that I give a shite, but I don't want my guys to think I'm an absolute arse. Gotta be stern but lay back enough where they don't work against you.
If there's work to be done, don't let me catch you sitting on your arse when everyone else is catching hell. If it's a slow shift, do what you gotta do, but don't bitch if something pops up.

If you show up late, don't make it a habit. And if we're working days, I like bacon egg and cheese on my biscuit.

IMO a good boss does not care if their employees like them. All the matters is that they respect them. In my experience, bosses who do care if their employees like them or not at all effective.

The owner of the company I work for is an awesome boss, very easy going and considerate. However my manager is an idiot, douche bag cocksucker...

People who are assigned as my direct boss keep leaving, but I've liked every one of them because they usually hand assignments and let me do them.

It's the sales group we work alongside. Bunch of fricking retards.
