I just rewatched the first flashback with Lyanna in Winterfell, and it's amazing how much they have to spoon feed it to the Hodors on what is going on. Like when someone addresses a young Ned by name and then Bran says "that's my father". The writers have so little faith in the Hodors that they have to remind the audience who Ned fricking Stark is.

Can you imagine the dialogue they are going have to write to remind everyone who Gendry is?
I'm sure they'll be a ridiculously long flashback in the "previously on" segment as well as some insanely choppy dialogue in the show like "oh that's Gendry, Roberts bastard, I sent him on a boat 4 seasons ago.....errr a couple months ago

He's bound to come back, no? Just the first guy off the top of my head that could still play a role that hasn't been involved in the show in a while

I mean, maybe. I dont want to fall into the trap or thinking that because he was important to s small portion of the storyline that he has a role in the big picture as a whole.
I know GRRM writes like this often and people get caught up in side stories which often end right there.
He could have a larger role but personally i doubt it outside of the show. He was really only important as Robert's bastard and the "kings blood" parts with the red witch.

I thought this for a long time but after my last rewatch I thought, but why save him? Especially since it was of no consequence to Davos or anyone really. Seems like an odd loose end to leave out there that would've been real easy to get rid of

Stannis almost executed Ser Davos for freeing him, though.
Thankfully, Shireen taught him how to read

My predictions from studying the trailers:
Euron presents himself to Cersei and offers her his fleet. Big naval battle between Euron and Theon/Yara at some point this season.
Jon and Davos visit Dany at Dragonstone.
Bran is clearly depicted being dragged toward the gate at the Wall. So he will go south of the wall.
Arya returns to Winterfell.
This I am almost certain about: Dany sends the unsullied to flatten Casterly Rock.

I'm so fricking nervous about this season. I don't think Jon dies but he's going back north it looks like.

I just figured he was the show version of edric(sp?) storm.
At least, for the saving from the red witch part.

I've been ready for S7 for over a year now!!!
"a game of thrones" was published in 1997...if you read the book when it first came out, you have officially been waiting 20 YEARS for danaerys to return to westeros

I didn't read the books until 2013.

Absolutely. In the trailer they are sneaking into somewhere and are clearly fighting Lannisters where there are Lannister banners hanging in the background.
Its gotta be CR
