Yep. Possibly the most important passage of the series

I still think they should have done this word for word.

In the book its a dream, but in the show it is the direct viewing of a past action. I think the difference scenarios dictate different word choice, etc.

It doesn't excuse leaving out Ser Oswald or making Dayne fight with two swords, although I admit he came off 100% badass in doing so.

That was some of the best choreography for a dual-wielding fight I'd seen

I saw a video from a guy who was a historian and professional sword fighter and he critiqued the whole fight. He said most of the fight was very unrealistic.

But to average person( like myself) who knows nothing about swords, it was pretty cool.

Well go and tell that guy he's a fricking nerd and the show is about dragons and ice zombies

Me too. The show didn't really do a bad job with this scene. It's just that the book version was one of the best written scenes of the whole series and the show just couldn't quite capture the whole magic of it.

God, that was annoying. Even the show's own continuity established there was a third guy in the past. Couldn't they just have an extra go down easy or something?

Lol no way does he die in S7. If he does die it won't be until the end of S8. FWIW I think he's going to survive the series and that Dany will be killed by the Night King.

Jon can't die until the finale. His resurrection would make any death unbelievable and not that impactful unless it was at the end of the series.

I just think him dying and Dany ruling everything would be boring as shite. She's made out to be invincible and it would be more shocking IMO to have her die.

I think this as well and Jon pretty much becomes a version of Ned, the ruler who doesn't want to rule but wants to be honorable and serve the realm.

I think the people in this pic are Jon, Thorros, Beric, Hound, Tormund, Brienne, and Gendry. Now, I know there's 12 people in this pic so I have no clue who the other five people are, maybe y'all will have some speculation as to who they are.

But, as Alt Shift X explains the guy at about the 3 o'clock position on here has a warhammer, Robert Baratheon famously carried a warhammer. It is possible that Gendry may have picked that up unknowingly from Robert.

Thorros, Beric, and the Hound were riding north, no reason to believe they didn't make it to Winterfell.

We know how close Tormund and Jon are so he'd definitely follow Jon back north to face the White Walkers.

Brienne could be a bit of a stretch though, just like Gendry. I can't quite remember where she was at the end of the last season.

Thoughts?

I think this could also be Jon fulfilling the Azor Ahai prophecy.

Agreed it is easily one of my favorite dialogue exchanges in the series.

To the original Azor Ahai? Because I don't think that's the case. After they show that picture, there's a shot of Jon riding alone out of that place. All of Azor Ahai's companions died too. So...all those badass motherfrickers could be dead after one battle.
