Actually, this place is incredibly beautiful, but very poor. There is no middle class here. The separation from myself and my family, to your average, true born Appalachian, is scary. But, if you can live comfortably here, it's very nice. Better than NOLA I can promise you that.

I know it's hard for you to enter into and understand conversations beyond OT metaphors so, here you go.

If you've been outside on a nice afternoon enjoying the time with a few friends and drinks, and some neighbors fricking dog is barking constantly even for 10-15 minutes, it's a pain in the arse, like every second of the time.

The very first sentence you posted to this thread is one of the dumber things I've read all week. If you're being genuine and not a troll, I feel bad on a few levels.

A golf course is probably not the place for barking dogs, but some of you dickheads need to realize that some people have dogs for things other than carrying them around in your purse, showing off their rhinestone collar.

I won't let my dog be a pain in the arse, but it ain't good for shite to me if it doesn't let me know when crap is happening when he is out there.

Do they breed others? Like a seedless watermelon?

Every neighborhood course in the world has dogs. Normal people just play through and not think twice. What the frick is going on in this thread?

Not retired. 30, baw. I was born and raised in BR. I own a small but profitable promotional products company, managing and owning several websites offering products varying from high end coins to lanyards, allowing me to operate from basically anywhere as it's entirely online based. I also own a small fabrication business in this area. I met my wife in Asheville and she is from this area originally. We moved here when we decided to have kids.

What was the purpose of your visit? Casino?

Feel bad. Also, read the thread. The mass feel the same. Your opinion is shite like your dog owners skills probably are. Typical sensitive barking dog owner.

I'll ponder if the OT should change my opinion. Will keep you posted.

Dogs bark. Saying "barking dog" as if it's an insult is incredibly stupid. If you have a dog that doesn't bark when someone approaches your house, you have a retarded and useless dog.

It's clearly bothering you enough to make a point to keep responding. It would literally be impossible for me to care less what you feel is stupid or not. This is a message board. I give my opinion and you give yours. That's how it works buddy. I think dog owners who let dogs bark more than occasionally are trashy. You think what I say is stupid. I'm still going to sleep great tonight and I feel confident you will as well.

We're having a discussion about the validity of OP's story while also discussing the trashiness of said OP dependent on if he may or may not be allowing his dog to act in such a manner as to upset the geriatric. Keep up, baw.

Dogs bark. If you call the police before talking to the owner you're a lunatic.

Unless you're leaving your dogs outside all night, you shouldn't have to put a shock collar or beat your dog.

We always had neighbors with barking dogs. It's what they do.

Last time a neighbor complained to me, I apologized, brought the offending dogs out in the front yard, and shot them in the head with a .22.

Promised him it would never happen again.

Then I asked if he would do something about the noise his kids are always kicking up on weekends,

Their presence alone is enough. I lived in some rough areas. My dogs (one a well trained lab for retrieving) never barked. Never had a problem. The place I lived in had a history of regular break ins, prior.

Now that I live in a nice neighborhood, seems like every other house has a yippy assed or obnoxious barking dog. Yet, you only see about 4 being walked. Get fricking fish or a hamster and let the rest of us live in peace.
