College football coaches that were fired too early

What are some examples of a coach in CFB that was fired too early and probably would have been very successful if given more time at the school he was fired from?

on a slightly more serious note, i think Strong at Texas would have been drastically better this year BUT with Herman being available, i liked their move

Mike Leach because he shouldn't have been fired at all and Texas Tech has been very mediocre since they let him go.

skip holtz at USF

Kragthorpe at Lville


both went into "clean up" jobs. needed another year or two. left the table set nicely for the next guys (strong and taggert)

mbi does it again!

Not only is his answer the complete opposite of what the OP asks about...

But Willingham was only there from 2002-2004. And was 21-15 in those 3 seasons. Not ideal, but come tf on.

Went 10-3 his first year. Horrible 5-7 record his 2nd year. They gave him 1 more shot, and fired him after a 6-5 record in year 3.

So basically you couldn't be more wrong
