Do liberals understand that Harry Potter isn't real?

seems like JK Rowling is always "weighing in" on some topic and it's always featured prominently on CNN and other news websites as if her opinion matters. She wrote a very entertaining fictional story about wizards - how that makes her political opinion matter any more than anyone else is kinda weird.

Um. My Quidditch match tomorrow is very real.

She's a billionaire who has had her ego stroked for 20 years. They never seem to know when to shut the hell up.

I have always loved some Harry Potter universe, but she is trying her hardest to ruin it for me. If I see her name pop up online I have to look away quick.

We live in a shallow culture where money/fame = the ideal.
Therefore, lots of people think that if someone is rich and famous, they must be smarter/better than all of the ignorant peasants who aren't rich and famous.
It's why we always have actors/singers/etc. weighing in on politics and society.
Call me cynical, but personally, I think it's because those people eventually get bored and disillusioned with their money, and so they start trying to figure out other ways to give their life some meaning. So they use their fame and influence to spout off on how we can make humanity better and shite like that.

Ah so building a brand worth billions is proof that Trump is qualified to be president but not proof that JK Rowling political opinion is worth listening to. Got it.
(FYI I don't think her opinion matters, but I also don't think being wealthy makes Trump qualified for office)

Her opinion matters more than yours because her name matters more than yours. The name Rowling catches people's attention. The name drexyl does not. CNN makes money by catching people's attention
Further, CNN knows that letting Rowling chime in will trigger people like you and make you feel like you need to belittle CNN publically. And when you do, it intrigues people and makes them want to know what exactly it was that Rowling said that got your panties in so tight a bunch. So they go to CNN. They give them clicks. They make them money.
That's a large part of what cable news is now. Triggering people to get clicks. If you're tired of it, stop helping them.

For claiming to be the smarted people on the planet, liberals don't have a lot of intellectual heavyweights that are in their corner and willing to speak up. They rely on entertainers to tell the people they entertain what to think about serious issues.

I'm sure they do.
Do conservatives understand that God is not real?
