Which apartment complex would you choose?

I have a friend moving to Baton Rouge from out of state with his soon to be wife. He's going to law school at LSU and she will likely be getting a graduate degree at some point at LSU as well.

They've asked me about two apartment complexes and I don't know much about either as far as safety and accommodations.

What kind of information do y'all have on:

- Turnberry Place
- Gates at CitiPlace

Both look to be in decent areas with one by Perkins Rowe and the other near CitiPlace, but I also know that the bad areas can be right next door. Thanks for the help.

Turnberry Place is in a nicer area. Citiplace is near College Dr and that area has gone down hill in the past 10 years

Prepare to pay like you live in a metropolis, while actually not.

Not sure your range, but the District on Perkins seems to be really nice and in a good location. You're looking at 1200-1500 a month though.

Unless they wanna pay 1,200+ your friends better be ready for some culcha.

Find a rental house in Capitol Heights, Spanish Town, or Beauregard Town. Even if nothing is available for less than that amount, it sure as shite beats renting out a unit at a complex.

JFC. Why are prices that high? No offense to our fine posters who live in Baton Rouge, but I can live for cheaper in a much better place in various cities across the country, and especially the South.

I live right across from perkins rowe. Occasionally bluebonnet backs up a bit but other than that there's never really much traffic. Not sure why several people have insisted on that in this thread
