I live right across from perkins rowe. Occasionally bluebonnet backs up a bit but other than that there's never really much traffic. Not sure why several people have insisted on that in this thread

Because it should take about 10 minites, but because BR roads and drivers suck it takes 3 times that long.

Rent a house in Nicholson Lakes or Lake Beau Pre instead.

JFC. Why are prices that high? No offense to our fine posters who live in Baton Rouge, but I can live for cheaper in a much better place in various cities across the country, and especially the South.

I've been looking to move to Austin and have been amazed that the rent prices aren't actually that different. There's actually plenty of 1 BD apartments for under 1k in Austin, which is virtually impossible to find in BR.

Rent in Austin has increased a good bit in recent years. While you can still find some decent apartments for around $1K/month, it's getting harder and harder.

That's atleast understandable tho. Austin is the second most growing city in the country, with new businesses/people flocking to it daily

Baton Rouge is nowhere near its level to demand the same level of rent.

And they all have shitty management and poorly built units while charging an arm and a leg. Pretty sure the cottages still charges upwards of 1200 a month for a 1 bed room unit w/o roommates and it's by far the shittiest of those complexes and the oldest

So is Turnberry the OT's choice for safety and quality of apartment?

Tell them to shop around. For the price of turnberry you'll have a good amount of options, including houses and town homes.

Got a couple buddies that live in the townhomes on Bluebonnet/Burkbank. Think they pay 1200 (2 bdroom), and it's a really nice place, two stories, with a garage and a small little patio area which they've made into a cool drinking spot.

The best apartment are usually the ones you find driving around and doing tours, not just the ones you look at online

I lived in Turnberry and never had any problems. At the time management was good. I don't recall any crimes in the complex. They are $$$.

I know a few people living here now. It's a little pricey for the age of the complex. I'd honestly look at the Enclave. It's right across the street, newer, and around the same price range.
