Used to hate when he'd leave the pocket, run for a 35 yard gain, and draw a penalty by sliding. No one should be able to give themself up that far downfield.

I remember when Young took the reigns from Montana and not feeling good as an opposing fan.
Young was a far superior athlete
I'll never forget that run he had vs. Minnesota

Didn't win a Super Bowl until the late 90's
The NFL named him the 1st team all-90's QB
Favre 2nd team
Elway is underrated because of numbers in the 1st 10 years of his career. . .when he was basically twilling the team to victory. He didn't have the team you guys remember, until the late 90's.
Young never had a season, when he didn't have an all-star team on offense.

He didn’t deserve it. He was 7th in the league in total TDs, 4th in yards, 11th in passer rating, and 18th in completion %. Even if you want to use the supporting cast argument, you’d still expect the MVP to lead or be close to leading in some major categories.

Young received the most votes in that all-star ballot, homie

Young only passed for 33,194 yards which is only about 200 more yards than Aikman and Young had Jerry Rice and all those other great players around him in the westcoast pass first offense.

Lol relying on total yards passing for an argument, weak sauce bro
Posted on 3/29/21 at 6:33 pm to OU812
Young passed for 200 tds in 121 games while Aikman had 145 in 143 games in the 90s. Young completed 4% more of his passes and averaged 1.1 more yards per pass attempt over Aikman.
Young averaged 8.2 ypa for the entirety of the 90s. His contemporaries (Favre, Elway, Moon, Marino, and Aikman) all averaged either 7.1 or 7.2. Just for reference, only 4 QBs averaged more than 8 ypa this past season. Young did it for a decade. Aaron Rodgers is widely considered to be the most efficient QB of all time... his career average is 7.8 ypa.
Honestly the order should be:
Young
Marino
Favre
Moon
Elway
Aikman
Honestly, if Jim Kelly had come into the league a year later, Aikman would be pushed even further down the list. Hell I could make a case for Vinny over him but I don’t care to.

If I had to choose who had the best decade, I'd pick Aikman. He was the biggest celebrity on the most famous team and made the most money. He set himself up for a huge post playing career and is set for life. He didn't have great stats and wasn't the best player. But I'd take the most Championships, money and fame over style points..

A team with Deion, Emmitt, Irvin, and others and you believe he was the biggest star on that team? Lmao
Posted on 3/29/21 at 8:10 pm to TheeRealCarolina
Yes, Aikman was the face and star of the team..
