My brother walked right up on him while clearing up a spot to build our boat shed.



It really is scary thinking about our kids playing out here one day.

Not knocking your brother but killing a headless snake is not that impressive. What was it going to do, constrict you to death? But alas, since it was headless it was unable to eat rats so I deem it a good kill. Congrats.

Can't "worry" about stuff like that. I know it can happen, but it is rare. Kids make enough racket that the snakes are usually gone long before the kids get anywhere near. Majority of bites happen when people are out in the woods and trying to be quiet, like hunting and the snakes don't get startled until the last minute. At that point, they may be cornered and their last resort is to bite in defense.

Just noticed that was the head at about the 5" mark. Thought it was a knot in the wood at first... LOL.

that's a biggun. i've never seen one that big. Have seen a longer canebrake, but no copperheads that long.

I say photoshop. Why does the snake have no shadow and slightly blurry but every thing else is clear?
