I could be happy in most any beach town I'm sure, especially if I were retired.
Play golf, fish, hang on the beach, and eat out all of the time.
Since I won't be a multi millionaire living down on the islands, I think something like living in Sandestin and driving a golf cart every where would be nice.
Or maybe living on the back bay at Orange Beach.

think id only work like 20 hours per week

live a minimalist lifestyle, probably wouldnt need a vehicle

fish, chill, etc

truly not seeing many downsides as a single guy with zero desire for the normie lifestyle of kids, family, minivans, etc

That would be nice, but all of the tourists constantly coming in for Baytown Warf would probably get annoying.

*Does Gerry Dinardo live in Sandestin? This year was like the 4th or 5th year in a row that I've seen him jogging around the property

I guess if you were to have a house in Sandestin olaway from the wharf area you could avoid it in the busiest time.
In my ideal world, I would leave to live in Colorado or Montana for the months of July thru September. Mostly to get out of the heat

That doesn't found like a bad life style for a young single guy at all honestly. Still would like to be in a smaller secluded beach town though

Beach is for vacation. I would not want to live there. Now the mountains...that's what I'm talking about.

I do actually on the beach in Perdido Key. I have a place in Nola where I escape from June to late August. The crowds during season ruin the beach for me.

I hang out in Crystal Beach, TX a lot. It's the white trash version of Galveston, with even a crappier beach. However, you can drive on it. The thing is the in-shore fishing is off the hook good and then once duck season starts, it's game on again. Plus, all the places are new since Ike leveled the place back in 2008.

We have a home there. What did you do for work? I'm trying to move to the beach house permanently but work keeps me from doing so and retirement is too far away.

My Fianceé's parents also have a house there. I wanted to live there permanently (well when I was home). I was an inspection contractor for nuclear power plants. Now, I work in refineries here in Louisiana.
