What did they win? A Pac 12 Championship?

Pretty much the same as 2011 LSU just a conference championship
According to some on here football does not exist outside of the realm of the SEC so they didn't really win anything expect the trophy that 2011 LSU carries Runner Up

Put up 2011 LSU against 2005 USC
Do you really think LSU would beat that team.
Absolutely, they could beat them. Notre Dame almost beat them. Would say USC wins 6 out of 10 times. People don't realize how insane LSU's defense and special teams were that year, and how much they could control the clock and field position. In terms of NFL talent alone (that actually panned out), it's easily a Top 5 team all time. Obviously there are more factors than that, but that alone keeps them on the field with 2005 USC.
Is 2005 USC better than 2007 LSU? Obviously. Is 2011 LSU better than 2007 LSU? Obviously. Not winning championships doesn't preclude a team from being great, nor does winning championships mean you are better than all non champs all time.

That defense that Texas had in 2005 was stacked with NFL talent and USC put up points on them.
Ohio State moved the Ball some on that team but pretty much all year that 05 defense dominated.
You are taking one game out of the entire season and I can do the same with LSU. The game against Miss State I remember watching and thinking how good the SEC was that year because Miss State was one big play from turning that game but didn't have the exceptional talent to do so. That was why in 2014 I wasn't surprise when State started to have a good season because they had competed the previous 2 or 3 years but couldn't break though.
So was 2011 Miss State better than 2005 ND.
It doesn't really matter what matters is how a football team wins and perseveres against adversity and any team that has ever won a championship has to overcome obstacles

According to the NCAA, the 2005 Trojans don't exist so therefore they can't be recognized due to playing with an ineligible player and cheating

I'm taking one game to demonstrate to you that they weren't some invincible force. They were obviously insanely good and I gave a slight nod to them. That Texas defense wasn't even close.
If Miles plays JJ, move that to 8 times out of 10 USC wins, if not 9.

Texas' D that year was top 10 in both points and yards against, and USC shredded them for 570 yards and 38 points.

He was responding to my comment about NFL talent. That Texas defense was very good but didn't have anyone that would start on 2011 LSU. shite Kevin Minter was our MLB that year, and LSU fans kind of forget about that.

Warriors have an argument since green was tossed for game 6 loss and bogut was out injured for game 7.
Giants won on a great catch by a great player.

Nah that is pretty laughable. They went on the road and beat one of the best teams of the last 15 years and destroyed their SEC schedule. And when you look at the NFL talent that team had, it ranks as among the most prolific rosters ever. The factor that obfuscates the discussion is how much of an imbecile Miles was in playing Jefferson over Lee.
This. They are easy top 20, disputable top 10.
Do I really need to post that schedule??

LSU played the 8th toughest SOS that season and defeated opponents with a 24 pt MOV, held opponents below 10 pts 7x

Your opinion as a LSU fan is about as worthless as probably your home if you are fortunate to have one

They all lost in the big one but we're arguably the best teams not only that year but of all time in their sports.
Does not winning the title make them less great?
The moments that destroyed those teams:

All 3 incidents were very fluky and once-in-a-lifetime.
Also note that all 3 teams were stopped from immortality by very ordinary teams: 10-6 Giants, 6-7 Iowa State, and 41-41 Rockets.

Put up points?
That's putting it mildly.
USC put up 38 points - they were the only team to score over 30 points on Texas all year - and that's when Texas was removing half their starters after halftime because they were up 45-10.
Leinart had a 152.4 QB rating in the game
Leinart passed for 365 yards
USC rushed for 209 yards
USC's 3rd down conversion rate was 57%
Texas had 30 first downs; USC had 30 first downs
USC had 574 total yards; Texas had 556
And Texas had a Top 5 total defense that year.
