I have heard this over and over.

I'd like to see the average margin of victory of long-time incumbents versus an open seat. I would guess that incumbency is good for AT LEAST 15 points in any election, regardless of party.

But, let's not let facts get in the way of an agenda/narrative.

Special elections cannot be compared to a regular election. The turn out is significantly different.

Talking Point: The Dems emptied the war chest backing a white male in GA ... and lost to a frumpy, unattractive, inarticulate white woman ... now the first Congresswoman in the history of GA.

At a cost of $200 per vote for the democrats. At this rate if they spent $13,400,000,000 in 2020 they MIGHT win the White House.

From 1827 to 1979, the democrats held this seat. It's not some eternally red district anyway.

When a district votes blue for 152 years, if obviously has some left leaning tendencies

She's only the first GOP woman from Georgia to serve in Congress.

And it wasn't even largely in the north Atlanta suburbs until 1993.

I think it was 2 points. It was close.

It's been considered a safe Republican district since it was established in 1992. No Democrat has come close to winning there since then. I don't think yesterday's results show any shift in preference there. The R was likely always going to win. It does show Handel wasn't a strong candidate.

One of the greatest things about this election is the Dems can't claim it was because of misogyny ( a woman won), racism (loser was white), homophobia (at least I don't think so) or any other -ism they usually trot out after a loss.

Hey Dems! The U. S. is getting sick of your crap! All Republicans aren't bigots and we're not trying to poison your water, destroy the Earth and keep your kids stupid.

On that last point, by the way, the Dems are doing a great job of it already.

Tom Price ran against a nobody whom, if the radio program I was listening to this morning is accurate, received $0 from the DNC and supposedly media outlets didn't have a picture of him on election day.

Yes, Trump won this district by 2%.

Left calls this election referendum on Trump.

Trump's candidate wins by 4.

This was another massive fail by the left.
