in January I traded in my '13 White Super Duty (black interior) for a '17 Black Super Duty (black interior)

The Black is without a doubt hotter.

The color of your truck is not nearly as important as the color of your truck nutz.

My Grand Cherokee is black on black on black on black with tinted windows. It's never hot to the point where I can't sit in it or anything

Dude, do yourself a favor and just get a white vehicle. Yes, darker colors absorb more heat. I once had a dark vehicle with dark interior, a lighter color/white vehicle with lighter interior cools off faster than a dark colored interior. That's just my experience. Also, if you have two vehicles, one black and the other white and their exterior is equally dirty, the black vehicle will look dirtier than the white vehicle. That's another plus.

I recall a Consumer Reports test years ago where they put the same vehicle with different colors in the sun while monitoring the internal temperature. The white vehicle was far and away the coolest (greater than 10 degrees cooler than the rest), followed by silver. There was negligible difference between the other colors after that.

Go out on the lot on a sunny day and go touch a black vehicle and then go touch a white one....

According to Mythbusters the interior of the white car will be about 10 degrees cooler.

I bet the guy at the dealership got his position because of his extensive knowledge or heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Emmisivity and reflectivity must be words reserved for the dumb college boys of the world or something.

If you're meticulous about keeping your truck clean, a dark color will drive you insane. Not to mention every little swirl and scratch will stick out. I have a dark metallic gray truck, and I wish I would have gone with the lighter gray color or silver.

Light colors are easier to keep looking clean too

This. Used to drive a white car and recently purchased a dark metallic gray truck. Just washed it and had a small rain and now it needs another wash. Would never have noticed on my white car.

This is def not true. On a super hot day, you dont want a black car, takes longer to cool
