Love the people of Omaha and their support of the CWS. But my gosh, what a cluster when it comes to the administration of the stadium. The general admission line was over a half a mile long due to only 1 general admission gate being open. Only 4 security attendants for 5,000 people. Fans were still coming in after 3 innings. Concession lines were unbelievably long, taking over a half an hour to get a beer and just as long to get something to eat. They even ran out of peanuts!

It would be so easy to improve this situation - open more gates to accommodate the large crowds and have more people working concessions. Or put more time between games.

A great event like the CWS needs to be run like the first class event that it is.

That sucks to hear. It was very noticeable at the beginning of the game that the stadium was not full for the first few innings.

Thar was pretty damn bad.

Easy to fix...let's see if they make amends.

FIFY

Everything about Rosenblatt was better.

The tailgating, the relaxed atmosphere, the way GA line was situated, the gift shops outside in people's yards, actual Zestos, the zoo being right there.

TDA is just concrete and store fronts. The poor people in GA just have to stand on the concrete sidewalk next to parking lots that you need a pass to get in to.

First time I've ever been caught sneaking in liquor in my life.

Then I missed Pap's home run while waiting in line for beer. Sigh.

We tailgated up until about 10 minutes before first pitch. When we walked to the GA line, we said no way. Like you said, it was wrapped around the stadium. Stopped at a restaurant to have dinner and walked in with no wait during the 5th inning.

Just like everywhere else now. Management is only worried about cost control. Customer service has become an afterthought.

Absolutely agree, we had player/guest tickets and the window didn't open till 30 minutes before the game. Some of the player's parents didn't even get to see the first inning of their son's game in Omaha....absolutely ridiculous.

I would be pissed if I went out there for that kind of mismanagement. You would think they would learn. Everyone and I mean everyone I speak to says the same thing. Should have never messed with Rosenblatt Stadium, it was classic college baseball atmosphere. They really messed up a good thing. They could make improvements but all I hear is the games are too long. Blah blah blah. That's the least of their problems but is probably one which needs to be fixed as well just not a priority issue. They will make it one though. They may want to accommodate the fans who bring money and interest to the very game paying their bills.

Was reading on Wikipedia yesterday how the stadium has lost several yearly events over the past few years and how they could not reach an agreement to bring a minor-league baseball team there.

I was wondering how they made any money outside of the College World Series and Creighton baseball home games.

i totally agree. the game was great but otherwise an awful experience. we waited 30 min for a beer and then were told we needed a wrist band. no one knew where to get them from. we finally got one to go with the other 5 on may wrist and after 30 more min i got a beer. lol bathroom lines just as bad. this is not rocket science

Worst part for us was concession lines. Waited the whole fifth inning for a beer, get to the front, and the guy says I have to go find the person handing out 21&over bands first. Have to get out of line, wait in an entirely separate line to get a band, just to wait 30 minutes in the concession line for a beer. Unreal.

First trip since Rosenblatt, huh? Omaha is still a great experience, but nothing like it used to be.
