What one thing did he ever win?

He won the comeback player of the year by the AP and sporting news after prison, so how in the frick did he "fall from grace?"

Tiger Woods after his cheating scandal

You are kidding, right? You and the 131 upvotes. That happened in 2009. He was no. 1 in the world 2013, a position he held for over a year until back surgery. His fall has been injury related since 2014, not related to the cheating scandal.

Which is my point exactly . If he was the biggest fall from grace, he needed to be on top at some point to fall.

Dude was nothing but a basket full of potential that never made its appearance when it mattered.

1) Vick was the first QB to rush for 6,000 yards and he was electric. DT QB's wanted to play like Mike Vick just like ballers wanted to play like Allen Iverson. Vick was the shite and he absolutely could have fallen from grace.
2) I don't think one has to be at the very top to fall from grace either. Naturally, one cannot fall from the bottom, but I think one can fall from the upper echelon just as easily as the very top. When we were ranked number 5 in baseball and everybody was finally taking notice, we got swept by shitty Bama and then LSU and we plummeted hard. So it can be done without falling from the very top.

The fall from Ronda isn't really that great...I mean, it's MMA...the margin between winning and losing is razor-thin...all it takes is one tiny mistake.

It's not like a 12-round fight...it's a flash and hell you can slip and be done.

But the hyperbole was so great...that it feels like a massive fall.

Remember this ridiculous Sports Illustrated cover:

Its a different sport. Floyd quickness means nothing he wouldn't even get off a punch against a skilled grappler(man or woman) who could literally just lay down and scoot towards Floyd kick his legs and if he tries to do anything other than run away he risk getting swept and game over. Now is Ronda skilled enough to do that? No.

But its still 50/50 at best, Floyd has 1 combo to finish her because once they are engaged its over Floyd can't defend himself.

I honestly wish Ronda had fought Mayweather...or KD plays Diana Taurisi one on one or hell Serena played Tommy Paul in tennis (who's Tommy?) - he's ranked #400 in the world and would beat Serena 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.

So we could finally put to bed this SJW sports gender nonsense politico talk.

Floyd is not even that hard of a puncher but he could kill Rousey - you just can't put her in the ring with a man despite the world's desire for social engineering.

Men punching women and why you can't an don't do it is a far different story than women punching women.

Um, shouldn't a fall from grace involve serious off the field/outside the ring issues?

It can but my usage in the OP is still valid. "Fall from grace" is defined by Wiktionary as: "The loss of one's social position, prestige, status, power, etc."

I'm pretty sure Rousey has lost a lot of prestige since 2015.

Tyson's was the most complete. He was the last real boxing superstar. Boxing's decline in popularity mirrored Tyson's own fall. I was a young kid in the early 90's so you'd think the biggest sports figure I'd remember would be Michael Jordan but I think for a short while Tyson was actually bigger.

When Ronda started she was ahead of all the women due to her judo background. A bronze medalist in the 2008 olympics. Her mom, Ana Marie de Mars was the first American female world champion.

She had some good mentors such as Gokor (Armenian judo and sambo practitioner) and Gene Lebell. Somehow this Armenian Edmond hussled her. I think he's had a couple of amateur boxing matches and Muay Thai, but he knows Kung fu the best.

Once the women improved their striking and overall fight iq , she became toast. She's an emotional wreck

Now I look forward to this nunes and svechenko rematch.

Was Mike Tyson a complete fall from grace? I mean he is doing well now.

Edit - I see someone else suggested it!
