to us? Not really much of anything.

To his family, a lot.

did not meet Dexter's code. Seriously, this is disturbing. I've been in favor of capital punishment as long as I can remember but when it comes down to it, I would not be willing to "pull the switch" in many cases. Thankful that DNA evidence has begun to make certainty easier but with only circumstantial evidence, no matter how compelling, I would be hesitant to make that call. This poor young man's story seems a perversion of justice. God help those, right or wrong, who take the responsibility of taking another's life.

Seems like he was definitely wrongly convicted by constitutional and other legal standards. (They finally got around to correcting that in 2014! )

I wonder if he actually did it?

From Wikipedia. "The youngest person ever to be sentenced to death in the United States was James Arcene, a Native American, for his role in a robbery and murder committed when he was ten years old." Was not executed until the age of 23.

That's a great question. I'd say probably not. But, considering the racial and political aspect of this case, I'd say it's almost impossible to find an unbiased source of information on the case so it's impossible to say.

On another note, South Carolina has nothing on Connecticut....

Hannah Ocuish: the youngest person legally executed in America.

No way to ever know.

I've heard that there may have been a deathbed confession from someone who was apparently the real killer. Or that the killer was someone from a prominent family and they put it on Stinney to protect the prominent family.

I think what you meant to say was that to say there WAS bias in the jury is an understatement.

Do you have a 14 year old son? Are you white? If you are white, and you do have a 14 year old son, and still think this way then you new therapy imo. This act was really fricked up. What's wrong with being empathic. Just saying...wrong is wrong.

Right. Studying and understanding the context of history has no relevance to the present.
