The more and more I think about it, the more I think he will end up with the Lakers.

There was a reason behind his "preparing Kyrie to take over the team" talk. I think he wants to join a team with a young nucleus and a cap situation that hasn't been wrecked by his poor moves.

These guys need to go to Meg's teams like KD so they can get nice, east shots. Of course then Durant would see the landscape and just go to whatever team beat his pre existing squad.

While I dislike what Durant did to the NBA landscape, repeating it is easier said than done. Durant still took the max salary, albeit on a 1+1 deal. Guys who can make $20MM per year aren't signing up for half of that to build a team.

Uh, free agency started that trend. Having the cap space to sign 3 guys to max deals isn't something that you see very often.

Lebron should do whatever the hell he wants. His legacy is secure in Cleveland with that title.

Lebron has been underpaid his entire career due to the NBA salary system. He should maximize his earnings

Then he should go play in Europe for Real Madrid or Barca.

He can be the GOAT over there.

How so?

Every elite player is underpaid compared to their value.

Specifically to LeBron, I don't think he's ever been the highest paid player in the league, so you'll have a tough time arguing he's never been underpaid or hasn't been underpaid for the majority of his career.

I love how people say LeBron or Durant should/will take a pay cut, but do not understand the union will not allow it as it will take the legs off others salaries.

As soon as he signs it and it goes for review the Union will decertify it.

Bill Simmons talked about it. Not that it has legs, but it's interesting to speculate. Simmons mentioned they could move Deng or Mozgov by attaching Randle to either or both. And stretch the other guy if they couldn't move him.

Grab Paul George next season, and they'd still have enough to get LeBron the following season. They could have Ball/D'Angelo/Ingram/George/Lebron. If GS reels off a 3 peat, why not? Shake things up, it would at least keep things fresh.

I always thought the Union doesn't actually have that authority? They'd certainly push for it, but I was under the impression the player ultimately gets to make that decision.

I think they have moved to more like the MLB system to increase leverage once they got rid of Hunter. The Union can decertify a contract.

Its a Players Association, so they may not actually decertify it, but put pressure on them to do so.

How were all three max deals when Wade had to sacrifice money to get the big three together?
