Wife and I are thinking we'll move every 4-6 months or so and move around Italy and possibly the surrounding countries. No kids to worry about. I don't care much about my family so I wouldn't miss anything. She's down to two brothers that she would keep in touch with.

If you didn't have kids you'd probably be spending all your time trying to have kids

If not for my wife and kids I'd drag up
tomorrow, sell my business and be gone! But that ain't happening!

Don't get me wrong love my family but busting my arse dealing with public and employees will wear you out. I'm 44 and have about 8-10 more years of it and I'll be able to chill!!!

When my time in the Navy is up, I plan on moving to the Virgin Islands for a year or so.

After living in the Austin area for a decade, my buddy was able to work out a deal where he moved back to Lafayette and basically did all his work from his home office (computer shite). Company sends him to South America and Europe a few times a year for jobs.

He finally said frick it and is building a house in Ambergris Caye, Belieze as we speak. If you can work from home, why not make home somewhere kickass I guess.

The island part is the problem

No more beautiful beaches in the world than Destin and you don't need a plane or ship to get there
If beach life gets old it is ez to change scenery

English is spoken and US law rules.

We met an American girl from Texas in St Thomas who was doing tours. She spent a good hour just talking to us. She echoed that the first year or so was great, but after that point, it got old fast and she was trying to get back to America once she saved up enough money.

She did know that St Thomas is an American territory, right ?

Read "Don't Stop the Carnival" by Herman Wouk. It is about a New Yorker publicist who leaves NY and buys a hotel in the BVIs.
